    Classic All-Time Rosters for NBA2K11 (PS3, Version 1.0)

    (SEARCH "classic all-time roster v2" on 2KShare. PS3 Only.)

So I wanted a complete looking all-time roster and really couldn't find one online. The Back To The Future roster was by far the best one and closest to being completed, so I used that as a base to begin. Had to add a good amount of players though to it as well, and what I have now is what I think a pretty good first version.

What I tried to do is be completely unbias, basing it off of statistics more than "oh man, that guy was sooooo good back in the day and I had his posters!" With that being said, it's not all about statistics either. Bill Russell's statistics were never great, but he's one of the top rated players in the roster set. I based the ratings off of how they compared with their contemporaries. That's how Neil Johnston, who most have never heard of, is a 90. Look him up if you get the chance. It's also why Maravich is an 82 (probably the most overrated basketball player in history).

Anyway, here are the lineups right now. Let me know if you want anyone else, especially on the newer teams. The Raptors, Bobcats, Hornets, Grizzlies and even the Heat are not too great right now.

The main rule is they must have played significant time on that team. In fact, they are only eligible for a team if they played the most years of their career with that team. Exceptions were few, like Dennis Johnson on the Thunder/Sonics instead of the Celtics, but that was just how it worked out.

So here are the list of players, in order of ratings for each team. Check them out if you wish. They are on 2KShare. I'd like to gather some more info, and get 15 players on each team. That way you can switch in and out a few players if you don't want to play with the guys on the default roster.

Hopefully someone can, because I don't know how to.

I kind of started working on it and couldn't stop. It's not complete in my mind, but it was good enough that I wanted to get it out there for people to check out.

If you don't see any talented players on there let me know. As I said even if they don't make the 12 man roster, I want to fill them to 15 for each team. Kind of like wild card spots and a way to get more people you might want on the teams. I included Bol, Bradley and Bogues mainly because they are so unique and at least were adequate players. I feel like I got just about everyone significant, but there are probably still missing pieces.

The problem with some Celtics/Lakers guys is the competition is so tough. However, I do feel as though they are needed as at least an option if you don't want the shimmy being done on your Celtics team.

Here are a few guys I'll probably add to the list. Some might be free agents you can add if you'd rather have them than the guys on the roster.

          Sam Jones
          Kendall Gill
          K.C. Jones
          Gus Johnson
          Cedric Maxwell
          Jerry Sloan
          Michael Ray Richardson
          Mychal Thompson
          Norm Nixon
          Red Kerr
          Truck Robinson
          Dick Van Arsdale
          Don Nelson
          Doug Christie
          Tom Gola
          Scott Skiles
          Charles Smith
          Wayman Tisdale
          Dick Barnett
          Otis Birdsong
          Happy Hairston
          Calvin Natt
          Mike Newlin
          PJ Brown
          Johnny Green
          Ruben Patterson
          James Silas
          Purvis Short
          Anthony Peeler
          Armen Gilliam
          Stromile Swift
Michael Dickerson (maybe, only because Grizzlies need players)

I'll also take requests for anyone else, just not too many and make sure they are at least above average. As much as I liked the player, I'm not making Calbert Cheaney or guys like that just because I/someone else was a fan of a below average NBA player.

                Re: Classic All-Time Rosters for NBA2K11 (PS3, Version 1.0)

Cool, I'll try to add as many of those guys as I can.

My goal is to get v2 out this weekend, and that will probably be the final version for the most part. I want these set and ready so I (and hopefully others) can enjoy them during the NBA playoffs, summer and so on.

If anyone has a chance to download and look at them, let me know if any major things should be changed on existing players. I tried to get all the gear and lefties fixed up, but the shot releases and such might need some changes (need a good set shot to use for the older guys).

Any praise for these rosters also needs to go to you. I added players, tweaked ratings/gear, etc., but there is no way I even would have attempted this if you didn't have such a great base. Hopefully I didn't step on your toes or anything by doing this, that was never my intention. I just wanted to get as many guys in as possible to have a classic roster to play with. Again though, I can't thank you enough for probably putting in twice the work I have to get this roster set. Let me know if you personally want more players in. Also, do you know how to get more created player? Does a create a team work?

Just awesome work...some of the ratings are a little off but thats just a preference thing.

I don't know if its going to possible for us to change or not but I thought I may give you some recommendations in order to spread out the talent (specifically the big men)

Kareem to Bucks (as Lew Alcindor)
                          Wilt to Lakers
                          Moses to 76ers
                          Shaq to Magic
                          Mourning to Hornets

Maybe Elvin Hayes to Rockets but since Yao & Ralph Sampson is already there it may not be necessary

McGrady to Raptors.....Magic has a girth of swing players.

If we can easily move these players, don't worry about it..its just a thought.

                          Otherwise...these are great.

With the ratings, I'll even admit a few I am not that happy about. However, I went off of statistics and how good they were compared to their era. Used the more advanced statistics available, and then gave boosts to guys who were known defenders as well to boost their overall. I know a guy like Neil Johnston or Bob Pettit would not nearly be that good with the relatively limited games they had now, but they truly dominated in their day. Any huge rating things you are unhappy with? I'm probably going to leave the existing ratings as is and I can explain why I put them that way if you wish. Might do a little tweaking though because I think the Magic were rated #1 overall, even though when you look at their roster I'm not really sure why they could be #1 and the Lakers #6 by the numbers. The overall ratings definitely would favor the Lakers. Not sure if perhaps that rating system for teams is broken or what.

For the guys on certain teams. As I said I really didn't want to go against the principles of where they had their most success. Kareem won more and had more great years in LA. Wilt with the Warriors. T-Mac's unbelievable years happened in Orlando, even though his Rockets/Magic games played are pretty even.

As you stated, this of course can be adjusted when you download the rosters to whatever you want. It's not really worth arguing too much about because of that (not that you are, I'm just saying my #1 goal is to make the game enjoyable with a nice set of rosters). I should have v2.0 (and most likely my final version...I want to actually play with the rosters) done by this Sunday, so if you want to hold off until then to download and then change the way you want it, go ahead.

no problem.. I do believe some of your ratings are off

IDK how Dirk Nowitzki could end up at a 95 overall with his defensive and rebounding problems.. but it is your roster so I have no problem with it..

I just might base my Back To The Future V3.0 off your roster.. and add a few other players that have been requested
