Its the best NBA game ever. End of discussion, there isn't anyone that will argue against that.

Of course it has its quirks, every game does, nothing is perfect. But this game is as close to "real" basketball on a gaming system that you will find. Sorry if you can't have fun playing real basketball and you need to do 360 dunks with Eric Snow (seen it happen)
I Agree but also disagree. I agree that it's the best "NBA" Game ever deffinently not the best "Basketball" game ever though. but i Disagree that this is as close to real life. I play basketball as a hobby & used to ball in high school so i know my basketball & this game does lack a lot of realism. For 1 every player in the game is unstoppable once they post up,you could have ben wallace hitting post up fadeaways at will at times(Which everybody knows he can't do anything offensively). I don't mind the passing but it would be nice to use a bounce pass in traffic,or lob it over the top when a defender is fronting your big man position. The Out of bounds line should'nt have an invisible wall, because if it did'nt people would think twice before throwing the outlet pass down court. psychic defenders make this game comical & unrealistic.. Just overall Game play has me left feeling "Why try playing real & Run plays when i can score 60 points in a quarter easily by run & Gun." I want a Basketball game force people to learn basketball in general before touching this game, because it annoys me that i myself know 10 times more about basketball but can possibly lose online to some kid that Plays 200 times a day online & thinks Larry Bird is a looney tune character.

A Basketball game will always be flawed because the true beauty of the game is the fact that is is unpredictable, and a person heart, determination, and passion for the game can never be slider. NBA 2k11 is not a perfect game, but it is the closest anyone has gotten to it, maybe 2k12, 13,14,15 will have the missing pieces, but for right now I can accept the game and all its flaws and appreciate all the work 2k put into it with the limitation they have.

NBA 2K11 is not a perfect game. No game is. My only hope is that NBA 2K12 expands on the strengths of this year's game and not stand pat thinking they can just coast because the new EA NBA game won't come out until 2012.

Regarding the first point, that's just plain false unless you mess with the sliders or play on Rookie or something. If you play with the right sliders or play on really any difficulty above rookie, it's almost impossible to score with Ben Wallace unless it's a dunk and you'll see guys like Dirk miss fadeaways a decent amount.

Regarding the second point, throwing the outlet passes has nothing to do with the out of bounds line. When the guys bobble those long passes, the majority of the time the animation takes them out of bounds. That wall is there to cover up a different flaw which is the player movement. When you use turbo, it makes it very difficult to control your players so a lot of times when you mean to just catch the ball and turn up court and sprint, the turbo makes you do some really awkward rounded out movement that forces you to run into that invisible wall. Now that's an issue in the game.

However, the wall is also there because if it wasn't there, it would be almost impossible to do anything along the baseline or in the corners. If there wasn't a wall, everyone would complain that they can't drive baseline or down the sidelines anymore.

2K11 best- b-ball title ever. 2k12 will amaze just te same. II did like the controls of elite though. So I might get both, but I know I'm bying 2k12 Easy money. 2k is one of the developers that gets as close as it gets to sim.

It's simple. As a total package, it's the best basketball game ever made, but underneath, there are still a lot of problems that need to be address for 2K12:

-The lack of offensive rebounding exists because they aren't any players properly boxing out or fighting for position. Because of thus, the defensive rebounding prevails because he already as position closer to the basket by default.

                - Players cutting towards the perimeter instead of towards the paint when the lane is wide open. The severely cuts down on offensive proficiency and efficiency. Running plays is still cumbersome in my opinion because of the flawed off ball movement.

                - Incorrect passing types for the wrong situations

                - On-ball defense is atrocious

The thing with 2K11 is that it does so many things right that the things it does wrong are easily glossed over by the fan base. Make no mistake, it's still the best basketball game ever, but it's far from being the crown prince when it comes to basketball fundamentals 101. I'll put it this way: it's an excellent representation of the NBA but just a meager representation of basketball.
According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.

It's your opinion, can't argure with that.

In my opinion, 2K11 wasn't the worst. The worst was 2K4 (haven't played 2K and 2K1, though). May I ask, what made 2K4 better than 2K11?

I have full confidence in 2K Sports and NBA 2K12. 2010 will be a banner year for the series because not only was the game considered the best of the series, but also considered the best B-Ball game ever and in the topic of discussion of best sports game ever. Add that to the fact that they put the most iconic basketball player to ever grace the court on the cover, and then your only competitor bows out after trying to pull the same trick every year of lack luster gameplay and off the charts marketing. As a development company you couldn't dream of a better scenario.

So the game gets the highest scores ever for a 2k game, wins basically every sports game of the year award, described by many publication as the best game to ever represent their sport, so me calling you a troll for basically saying everything about the game sucks is justified. The game is not perfect and there are some legitimate complaints we can all agree upon, but you went far and beyond which make me question your real intent.

Who cares what the game won and call me what you want cause I payed my hard earn money and a game to enjoy and don't...its a problem and I understand how u love the game cause u will defend the game to death.1 thing I love about the game tho is it makes you play smart and slow and I'm glad its not a dunk fest anymore ...so the next 2k if they don't fix the things that's bad the score will not be the same .
