Re: I want this game so bad!!
Nowadays in the USA there is no such thing as paper boys anymore. In order to be a "paper boy" You got to be at least 18 years old, clean driving record and have your own car.
Not saying it is like that in every state and every town, but that is what the requirements were in the past 3 states I lived in.Comment

Re: I want this game so bad!!
Man some of you guys are really harsh. The kid is in 8th grade. When I was in 8th grade I played 3 sports and summer baseball. The last thing on my mind was getting a job.
Buddy, it is a lot of money so it'll be difficult. I'd try and talk with my parents on ways you could "earn" that money without actually collecting any. Any projects your dad needs done? Painting, cleaning the garage/basement, detailing the inside of his car, etc.?
My parents bought me a Playstation when I was in middle school under the condition that I did a massive amount of work for them. I stained our 2 decks, cleaned out my dad's shop, washed and detailed my parent's cars, did some weeding around the house, and a few other jobs I can't remember. While still getting good grades and being respectable towards them.Comment

Re: I want this game so bad!!
I've never received anything that expensive for my birthday.
I always got a cake and a card with some money, but it was only like 40-50$..
The only difference is, my parents divorced when I was nine.. so I got twice the amount of crap..
A PS3 is something you ask for, when it's christmas time... or you bargain and find a way to help them out.. $300 is a lot of money to drop at once.. when there's no special occasion involved... my parents would have never went for it.
Also, you can ask for whatever you want, but if you're getting the PS3.. you're almost obligated to get The Show.. especially since you seem to be a baseball fan...Comment

Could mention the PS3's versatility. Blu-Ray, Netflix, Hulu, MLB.tv, decent web browser.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: I want this game so bad!!
I worked at the kitchen of a Bingo Hall when I was in middle school. We worked entirely on "commission," which sucked because I'd work five hours and bring home $10 sometimes.
Summer after ninth grade I began working for a landscaping company and would cut grass. I basically walked behind a self-propelled for eight hours a day to make $5 an hour. It was a great first legit job though. I actually still help the company out ten years later. He pays me $10 an hour now, and I don't work every day or for long hours, but it's nice.Originally posted by DaImmaculateONeHow many brothers does Sub-zero running around in his clothing?
