MLB.tv 30 day trial (PSN down)

I just emailed Sony about the 30 day trial that we got with the game and if they are going to compensate us time back due to their outage. I'm waiting for a response.
I know we can watch the games online through our computer also but the point of the trial was to try MLB.tv on our PS3's.
I'll let everyone know what they respond when I get it.
Hopefully they will do something to right this one.

Shoot, I haven't even tried it since PSN's been down. That's super weak.

You can still use the internet browser and stuff, but I guess your PSN ID is tied to your MLB.tv account, so that makes sense.

There should definitely be some compensation. Until recently, I didn't have a laptop to watch the games on, using my PS3 as a multimedia center basically. So I can feel your pain.

Yeah when you go to MLB.tv if asks you to sign into the PSN. The two are tied together.

You should be able to still get in there. The same thing happens with Netflix where it asks you to sign into PSN but after trying a couple of times, it just eventually puts you through to Netflix. I watched 2 movies last night and wasn't connected to PSN.

I tried, it says you have to be logged into PSN and just keeps asking to log-in over and over.

I think it has to do with your email address. Like when you login to MLB.tv on the computer you have to put your email address and password in each time. But on the PS3 it never asks you because I think it's synced with the email address for your PSN account.

In no way should our MLB.tv loggin be tied to our PSNid. Like DJ says, Netflix attempts to do the same thing but lets you in when it realizes that you can't sign into PSN. The MLB.tv app needs some work. I'm going to email MLB to tell them this is one of the reasons I won't be purchasing after my trial runs out.

I've been trying to follow the PSN situation closely. In one comment thread on another site a person posted the terms and conditions directly linked to this situation. In short it said if a service becomes unavailable or unusable there is no warranty on it so you are not required to get compensation. Thats the legal point of view. What Sony decides to do from a Public Relations point of view we will have to wait and see.

OK, well I was wrong about that. I just spent 10 minutes trying to get into MLBTV and couldn't do it. It'd be nice to get that time credited back on our accounts, but not holding my breath.

Quick question, when does the code for MLB.TV run out?
                    Go Phillies!

On my receipt it says the expiration date for redeeming the code is 4/30.

lucky you I had to finally hook my lap top to tv to watch netflix; it was at first working that way but it made me resign back in with email and password and once that happens I keep getting booted out once it tries to retrieve movie or tv show. hopefully they will get psn fixed soon. i had been getting a error code when i tried to sign in for about 2 or 3 weeks now but it worked up until last night

Response Via Email (James G) 04/25/2011 02:46 PM
                          Hello,

We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure. Though this task is time-consuming, we decided it was worth the time necessary to provide the system with additional security. Unfortunately, we do not have a timeframe for when these services will resume to share with you at this time. We thank you for your patience to date and ask for a little more while we move towards completion of this project. We will continue to give you updates as they become available on the PlayStation® Blog:

Please be aware, Sony will not contact you asking for secure information such as your credit card number, social security number or other personally identifiable information through phone, email or any other method. If you are asked for this information, you can be confident Sony is not the entity asking.

                          Regards,
                          James G
