if EA will improve their simming engine then i'll still play 82 games per season, mostly half will be simmed. i just want a full stats for 82 games (stats i mean close to the real world). if they cannot improve their simming (which im sure they CANNOT DO IT...its the same old problem with a new cover) i'd like to see the 20/42/64 games schedule as well.

I did once and it was last year with NHL 10. I was all set to go for Year 2, but my Be A GM file was corrupted due to the scout phone glitching my simming through weeks of the off-season.

I didn't have the heart to attempt it again this year, so I'm just playing Playoff Mode.

I have completed one season since the NHL 09 game brought EA back to hockey prominence. The problem was that I never completed the playoff series because I lost interest from the grind of playing 82 regular season games.

With NHL 11, I am only playing playoff mode and play now games with the Swedish Elite League. After I finish my current NHL playoff, I will be playing the Swedish playoff.

That is why I still play 2k10 a 54 game season is long enough
I know that this wont happen but, in real life a 54 game season would be enough for Hockey and basketball. Baseball could have 140 but $$$ and tradition will keep that from happening.

If you're talking all-time, it's too many to count. If you're talking NHL 11, it's two.

They talk about this a lot in NBA 2K11 commentary, actually. Kellogg even mentions how Shane Battier has proposed a shortened schedule; I believe somewhere in the 58-game range.

I'd be in favor of it for both hockey and basketball. It would make the regular season games more important and would prevent the huge overlap of sports that we get in the fall when these 2 sports start up and we've got football and baseball also going on.

Played one in like NHL 04 or something, but that was it.

If the game wasn't so predictable I would finish numerous seasons because hockey is my favorite sport. This game just feels too predictable and the same thing happens over and over to play an 82 game season. I play 162 games on The Show because the game has the ability of playing 162 games without getting bored or the same results. This game isn't to that level yet. I really hope some day it will though.

I finished a full season way back in NHL 07, my first purchase of a sports game actually since I had never been into them prior. That was one of the most thrilling run I had. I was trying to win the Rocket for Michael Ryder (Habs) but he was behind Vinny Lecavalier by a fair number. So I was working hard and just managed to take the lead at the second to last game (Vinny went scoreless)

I usually finish at least one season with my hockey game of choice every year. I'm used to playing a full baseball season every year as well, so playing an 82 game season almost feels short in comparison.

I've owned EA Sports NHL series games going back to 99 and have probably played all 82 games at least twice for each series. I don't find the season too long and as long as there is hockey on TV I'm in the mood for PS3 Hockey.

Just with NHL 11 I have played 64 game season plus playoffs with the Halifax Moosehead in the CHL, Played 2 seasons of 82 games with Edmonton just with my friends (we all play position lock on the team), and I'm currently 41 games into a Sens dynasty playing every game.

Agreed 1000%. This is the main reason that I haven't bought the game the last few years.
