You would think with all the glory and praise NFL2K5 garnered and still to this day recieves (it is a great game no doubt) the Tiburon team would look at their franchise mode and ESPN presentation as a nice template to build from. Heck The Show team was very deliberate in taking many of the strong points of MVP Baseball and implementing that into the Show series.

Nothing wrong with that...right?

The only true thing missing from Madden right now is great presentation and a truly rewarding and replayble franchise mode. And I know they hear us....and I truly hope to kill it this year.

We can hope right!

They used to have 2k running at the office to show the employees and Ian sent a congratulatory post over in the The Show Forum a few years ago.

Hey I like seeing game previews, reading about new modes, features, upgrades etc etc.

But seriously I don't and never will understand how anyone can come to any conclusion about a new game until you actually play the retail release. Even demos can really short change you and steer you of course.

A perfect example is the NBA 2K11 demo. Bare bones. If I had based my decision on that I would have been "I don't know seems stale" It was so stripped. Of course it is one of the GOAT sports titles ever. Then I played The Show 2011 demo and was blown away. It can be hit or miss with demo's.

Point is I think it is nonsense and borderline trolling forming strong opinions on a BS 30 second teaser clip of the game. Trying to analyze this game is just ridiculous at this point IMO.

I can't repect any posts bashing or even complimenting a game that is over 4 months from retail release. Until you play the official release how do you really know how it feels? How do you know how immersive it really is?

We can talk and speculate about what will be improved, not touched, etc etc. But saying the game is going to be crap or great at this point?

No one knows anything right now. All we know is what we want, hope and pray for.

I hope EA just makes such a great improvement this year, that I will feel compelled to purchase Madden 12!!!

I think it's about more then just this teaser some people are excited or disappointed about, it's a collection of everything up til now.

For years I have been hoping to get some straight talk from the EA hype machine. This year, that how it's been so far with not much vague stuff, IMO.

They directly stated how NCAA and Madden would be more of a core callabo and focus on the things unique to each in real life to make them different experiences. I think that's huge because these past years I felt like they were in core competition against each other and I didn't like that. So because gameplay info is released about NCAA first, I now feel confident attributing that to EA football as a whole.

Starting with those early Madden dev podcasts, certain individual things have been directly said that collectively are being consistently reinforced by visual evidence. That gives me excited optimism about Madden 12 and these little videos continues to build on that, for me.

I think those REASONABLE people with an opposing view are pretty much doing the same thing but for them the past is prelude. Either way, I don't think most people are analyzing the game solely on these videos. They are just pieces of a bigger body of evidence that people are basing their opinion on.

So, that's why I directed to over to the NCAA game play videos because you can see more than the teaser trailer. You said, why this is Madden.

My point was you could see what NCAA has and that is basically what Madden 12 will have. That's when you said just because NCAA has it, doesn't mean Madden will??? That's puzzling to me too because I thought you said you saw CHT in the teaser trailer for Madden.

That's it, nothing more, nothing less.

I tend to agree with this as well. I do think it may sound a little better than last year, but I still think it has a long way to go to reach NBA 2k11 standards.

I do have a question about 2k11 though. have they always had dynamic commentary? I just picked up 2k 11 this for the first time in a while. Im guessing they have improved little by little each year.

Commentary and broadcast presentation are the areas where I am most using the past to temper my optimistic expectations. I don't expect them to have either at the level of 2k but do expect them to improve. This is not because I believe 2k has more talent or even innate understanding of how to do these areas, it's just because they were humble enough to let the people who do this stuff for a living in real life, NETWORK broadcast producers, show them how.

For some unknown reason, EA seems to have this idea the past 6 years that they can do NCAA/NFL presentation in-game better than the people that the actual NCAA/NFL have doing it in real life.

Maybe Thursday we will be able to see this foundation beginning to change.

I expect some new lines, but I don't expect the commentary to be any more organic than it has been in, well, all of Madden's history. I believe to get this going, they'll have to build a brand new commentary engine -- I don't see that for their '12 football games.

I really hope consecutive hit tackling is in the game and that the presentation is not cookie cutter and can match up with 2K's (NBA 2K11 and NFL 2K5) This would be a WELCOME addition especially dynamic commentary!!! #Thursday!

i dont know what it is that makes madden look so cartoonish but at the same time i dont get that feeling with ncaa..oh and idk but what happened to foot planting and supposedly new running animation everybody assumed they saw in the first teaser video?

what do you mean? they had this last year, it wasn't great but it was there.

"bradford has just thrown his 25th touchdown..manning has just eclipsed the 3,000 yard mark for the season" etc?

The Problem with that though is that they don't separate the Regular Season stats and Post Season Stats. I mean you could throw 23 TDs in the regular Season, make the playoffs and if you throw 2 TDs in the playoff game they will say, "Bradford has thrown his 25th TD of the season..." which in fact he has thrown 2 TDs in the post season. They need to separate the stats of the Regular Season and the Playoffs.

Yeah I noticed the absence of 3-D grass and its disheartening. Although in some instances of the NCAA vids I haven't seen it there as well. If the new grass is not going to appear in Madden 12 it'll be disappointing.

Can we please get a halftime show that the community been asking for since 2006 EA. I mean intros is nice and all, but come on man. The community been asking for a halftime show that surpass NFL2k5 since 2006. If u fail to ignore the community yet another year, its just that u dont understand the real broadcast presentation aspect of football. What about stats overlays and banners that are ingame and seasonal stats, player comparisons...etc. The presentation was lame in Madden11, so please learn from your mistakes and surpass a 6 year ole game please.

It's hard to tell if there is or is not 3D grass. I would be seriously let down if there was no 3D grass in Madden. Seems like such a small thing, but I have always been a sucker for 3D grass in any game and if NCAA has it and Madden doesn't, then it will hurt my Madden experience more than it probably should or will for anyone else.

and notice how snow now looks on 3D grass, then look at this picture

and look at the snow on the ground, it looks similar to me and leads me to believe we are getting 3D grass.

And now looking at them again I actually think we may not be getting 3D grass which is a huge letdown for me.
