Thanks for your patience.
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
I remember that game with vick on the cover. It was one of the worst madden games in the series, if not THE WORST in terms of gameplay. But I think they sold tons of copies that year. One of the top 3 Madden sellers of all time if i remember correctly.
Yeah, but franchise mode was pretty great that year. I think it actually won awards mostly because of Owner Mode if I'm not mistaken.

John Kuhn, Madden 13 cover, make it happen people!
The Lions fan in me would hate that, but the football fan in me just wants to yell out KUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHNNNNN!

The Joke is on EA? Come on now...They just got the whole country in on a Madden cover vote in April. More people have been talking about Madden for the last month than they did all year last year. This has been all over twitter, facebook, radio, news, and OS. This was a brilliant marketing strategy by EA. It doesn't matter to them who won. If it did they wouldn't have been in the original field.
Also don't underestimate the number of Browns fans. Add that to the anti-Vick fans and there you go.
Amen, in fact it really couldn't have worked out much better from EA's POV. They generated a substantial amount of buzz merely by having Vick in the running without having to face the firestorm of criticism they would have received if he had actually wound up on the cover. That's a win-win.
PETA backlash would have been too strong. Smart move by EA.
Which is why I believe the voting was manipulated.
And we just saw how the NBA handled backlash from a social group. RE: Kobe situation.
I can't believe that Hillis won this fairly. That isn't saying anything about his power as a runner. But in terms of a popularity contest, I just can't view this as a legit competition.
EA will not and I repeat WILL NOT be doing this again EVER.
Hillis definitely wouldn't have been their 1st choice for the cover.
If it sells like Hillis was voted for than they definitely will. I just dont know if enough browns fans can carry the weight without the vick-haters come august lol.
America does indeed like Cinderella stories, but that's when they know who Cinderella actually is. This is like one of the seven drawfs won it. You know about him, that he is one in 7, but you'd have a hard time recognizing the drawf if it didnt have a name...sleepy, grumpy...etc....
I am happy for Hillis, he seems like a nice guy, but the jokes on EA
You have no clue what you are talking about. The end result doesn't matter. The tournament has EVERYONE talking about the game. My whole news feed on facebook is flooded with Madden cover statuses...it doesn't hurt I live in Cleveland, but still, EA did what they set out to do.
If EA really doesn't care who is on the cover, which I kinda think is a stretch IMO although a great point about all the PR they got over this then they will have a bracket next year as well. If it was that successful for them to get this kinda coverage this early I don't see how they can pass it up when M13 rolls around.
We'll just have to wait and see.
