Had two pretty good fights with it. One in OWC and one in Fight Now. Both went about the same. Haven't seen any 1pko but both fights were middleweight action and I wasn't able to really setup the Coup de' Gras punch like I'd want to. Both opponents were your better than average fighters and wasn't leaving themselves open like idiots.

Fight Night Champion Tuner Set #2 : Impressions
Well they fixed what they said they would. And it works. No more flailing around like an epileptic because you're getting jabbed to death in the guts. You can get a punch off. I've seen some offsetting, so it isn't like they completely reversed it but it's more realistic now. I was able to nail my opponents dome every time he tried to body spam.

Re: Tuner Set #2 : Impressions
I already posted in the other thread. The tuner basically killed it for me. I was on the fence, hoping things would change for the better for online, but this really did me in.
They fixed the jab spam, I guess, but now everyone is spamming straights, and no matter how often they do it, they still easily rock you. They beefed up the punch power, and now your guard stands to chance to consistently block incoming spam. You get easily rocked and knocked down, and there's really nothing you can do.
I fight smart, stick and move like I always do, but in the 3 fights I played post-tuner, despite picking apart my opponents in terms of accuracy (on average 60% to 30%), they few shots they DID get through (via power spam usually) rocked me and knocked me down.
Due to the powering-down of the jab, opponents just walk straight through my jabs and spam me to death.
Unfortunately, I think I'm going to be taking a break from this game now. -

Re: Tuner Set #2 : Impressions
I'm pretty happy with the tuner set overall. I really think they moved the stamina up too much. I see the need to have moved it up but they moved it up too much in my opinion.
I have not had any issues with being spammed by straights. However I've only had 6 fights.
If they slightly bump the stamina down somewhere in between what it is now and where it was at the last tuner set I'll be totally content.PS4 - CoastalRyan

Re: Tuner Set #2 : Impressions
One final thought about the new tuner.
FNC has basically been 3 different games: Launch, post patch/tuner 1, and post tuner 2.
Each of these three is completely different. The stamina, 1 punch KOs, cuts, punch effectiveness, counter window, ability to move while being punched have all changed significantly.
EA can't decide how they want their game to play. This doesn't feel like tweaking the gameplay. This feels like three different games.EA: Please add in-game saves.Comment

EA decided how they wanted the game to play when it shipped. Listening to feedback is what is changing the game. And I've been saying it all along, the offline/online gamer is too different to the point that the games makeup changes depending on the general preference.Comment

Re: Tuner Set #2 : Impressions
I tried it, won several matches online. Tried offline and had some fun matches as well. Bring back 1 punch KO and damage back to its' release date form and we have a good game again. Until then..read below:
Until they patch in 1 punck ko and damage back to its original form I will stay play offline, no profile, no patches, or tuners.Comment

Re: Tuner Set #2 : Impressions
this is a bit dramatic. the game is not a different game. how you play it may change the way you play it, but it's the same game c'mon.

Based on your statement, I bet you only play offline. Is that right?
My entire point is that the game has had 3 separate, distinct "gameplay engines" (for lack of a better term) due to the updates. Every online gamer I know has had to significantly alter their play style because of the changes.
The following items have changed significantly after each update: stamina, 1 punch KOs, cuts, punch effectiveness, counter window, ability to move while being punched.
Isn't that the majority of gameplay?Last edited by boritter; 04-28-2011, 12:33 AM.EA: Please add in-game saves.Comment

I can say this in all honesty, I would not have bought the game if 1 punch KO's were omitted. Its a feature I've been asking for since KO Kings.
The tuner has not helped offline play from what I can see. Online play is now jacked up because noone loses stamina. But I also do not care what they do to online, there will always be an exploit. Chasing the exploit is going to end up leading to 2 guys standing in the middle of the ring like rock em sock em robots. They nerf the jab, but now the 1-2 run will be topo effective. They nerf the right cross and penalize running next. Then hooks will be the next punch of choice and people will cry about that too.
I just wish that in the future EA would adjust the game separately for online and offline. They nerfed the heck out of NCAA football and killed the AI QB play in the process. The tuners are very frustrating to me because both NCAA and FNC were relatively good out of the box, I spent a month fine tuning the sliders, getting pretty decent gameplay and then a month later they frog everything up by listening to mainly online complainers.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: Tuner Set #2 : Impressions
The Stamina completely sucks now....and it overshadows anything else I like about what they fixed
Everybody can now throw 1000+ with no fear of paying any consequences to their stamina
Once 1 Punch KOs come back it'll only get worse.........People spamming 300 Plus Power Modified shots and having 90%+ stamina is absurd
I don't want to say this is a complete failure but its pretty close.....Im so sick of dumb strategy/boxing skill being allowed to survive and flourish in this series....so casuals can have they're Rocky Balboa fights......
In fact thats what the title should be now....

Well they took out 2 of their major selling points in 1 punch KO's and "authentic brutality" facial damage.

atleast the exploits in fn4 took some learning, the biggest exploit in this game didnt ask you to do much more than hold LT and hit X
the supposed exploits from the gold version were nothing compared to thisComment

Re: Tuner Set #2 : Impressions
i hear what youre saying here, but there was no unbeatable exploit until the first tuner/patch came out. there was no hyper punching, no gliding and leaning back while blocking low, no body spam.

I agree. I loved the retail game online. I played it like crazy. The perfect block spam was a minor annoyance, not a game breaker. I would have kept playing the retail version as long as there were people to play online.
I disliked patch/tuner 1. I played it less than I played the retail version. It made the jab the best and only necessary punch. But once I found out how to counter jab spammers I told friends that I didn't want another tuner. I worried it would introduce even more problems...
...And as everyone has posted, tuner 2 is garbage. I'll play it less than tuner 1.
I would pay EA a "patch fee" if they would take online back to its original state.
I don't play offline, but I agree with everyone who says the patches should be separate for online & offline.EA: Please add in-game saves.Comment
