Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - First Look at Presentation
One thing that puzzles me is that it says that all 32 teams will have cameras unique to their individual stadiums. Anyone know what that means? Do teams set up cameras differently for in their venues?
I'm confused by this.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - First Look at Presentation
Every single stadium is built differently obviously. A camera may be placed in the Suotheast corner of the stadium in two different stadiums, but it will produce a different view at each stadium since the architecture in both stadiums is so different. So, in Madden, when you play the Redskins, you will see one camera view of your team from the 50 yard line. Then when your back home in Denver you'll see a camera view of your team at the 50 and it will be slightly different and unique to that stadium.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Dirty uniforms are IN...realtime grass stains, etc.
Half-time, post game and any kind of weekly wrap-up shows OUT....they removed what was in last year as they felt it wasn't good enough, and they didn't have time to retool them this year.
Also, it SOUNDS like progressive lighting is in, as they spoke about the shadows changing over the course of the game.Comment

Maybe it's just me and I'm not looking as deep into it as you guys, but I really don't think they mean they are straying from a broadcast style. I think they are just saying they made it look different from any one particular station seeing as they don't have one they represent. So they made their own overlays and banners and what not. Maybe added a few of their own sound/visual effects to accompany those graphics similar to how CBS, ESPN, NFL Network, NBC, and Fox have different sounds and visuals when they present stats or whatever.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

I am REALLY hoping you are right, Tracer! I pray they didn't "put their own twist on it" and totally blow it.Maybe it's just me and I'm not looking as deep into it as you guys, but I really don't think they mean they are straying from a broadcast style. Progressive lighting is in, progressive lighting is stadium specific (orientation of stadium, architecture), progressive lighting is seasonally specific (shorter winter days).Dirty uniforms are IN...realtime grass stains, etc.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - First Look at Presentation
I guess they didn't study long enough... I have been a Bucs season ticket holder for 12 years and I have never seen a pewter flag at the stadium. How detailed are we talking? Young and his team studied for hours to make sure nothing was missing during pregame introductions. "We even matched the different (shapes and sizes) boxes that teams use for their pyro" Mike said.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - First Look at Presentation
"Madden NFL 12 also brings you a customized EA SPORTS television broadcast style. What I mean by that, is that banners, overlays, and stats are presented very similarly to what you'd expect to see on a true television broadcast, but EA SPORTS has tweaked that and made it something very original."
I have been very pumped (surprisingly) about everything that I have heard this morning. Everything that is, except for the above. This has me very troubled.
They have made great strides from what I have heard, but it seems old habits die hard. There is NO reason to put your own spin on broadcast (ego perhaps?). Just DO broadcast.
It's not rocket science.
OnlyLT, I thought the same thing at first but I think Tracer is right after reading this:Maybe it's just me and I'm not looking as deep into it as you guys, but I really don't think they mean they are straying from a broadcast style. "Highlights include real broadcast camera locations for every stadium, all new stadium exteriors (seen more than 10 times per game on SNF), virtual cameras, virtual director logic, and new broadcast graphics designed by the geniuses behind MNF, SNF, and ESPN’s Sports Center."
I think "EA tweaks" just mean things like "EA Sports" logos instead of network logos and things like that.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - First Look at Presentation
It says nothing is missing, and the Bucs do have flags.
They're just red with the logo, right?
But yeah, shoot Michael Young a tweet about it. I would assume (and I hate assuming) that changing the flag wouldn't be that big of an undertaking.Comment
