I'm cautiously optimistic. But I started the day with Madden 12 firmly on my not-to-buy list this year.
There hasn't been any discussion I've seen on the in-game commentary, and I'm worried about the custom playbooks. Will that result in gamers with a book full of undefendable money plays? Another thing I'm hopeful of is AI man-assigning top CBs to top WRs. In the Seattle playbook, there's a series of 4-wide shotgun plays where the top WRs line up in the slot. Against the AI, this resulted in guaranteed big plays as my 1 & 2 WRs would overcome the AIs 3 & 4 CBs.
But if they have improved Offline Franchise/ game play/ presentation by as much as they're hyping, I reckon I'd be willing to give Tiburon another 60 of my dollars in the hope they continue the way they're going. Either way it's good news. -

They mentioned improving franchise mode, but at this point were pretty vague. If they finally give us a franchise mode that is better than the PS2 days (Which they still haven't done somehow) I might jump back in.Comment

i fall between cautiously optimistic and not excited. The info sounds great but i'd be lying if i said i'm excited for the game. I still might not even get the game simply because NCAA Football is a more exciting franchise and i play it more often.Comment

Cautiously optimistic, but we heard all this hype before. I need to see it and it needs to perform as advertised out of the box and not have us wait till after Patch #3 to get what we paid for on 8/30 !! For me and my friends if Online Franchise is not complete and fully functional we will skip Madden and just roll with NCAA again this year no matter how many 100's of suposed animations, re-added features from past maddens and new features they have added.Last edited by TDKing; 04-28-2011, 01:35 PM.Comment

I'm still tempering my excitement. I'm at the point now w/ Madden that it's going to take a great deal to get me back on board w/ this product, especially considering the efforts made by other sports games in certain areas.
Madden has a lot of catching up to do, in a lot of areas, the presentation improvements look good, but I'm still in wait and see mode, possibly until I actually get my hands on the demo and see the improvements for myself.Comment

I can't remember the last time I wasn't excited for Madden and it's always a first-day buy, kind of a tradition, but what I've seen today has made me more excited than I have ever been this early in the cycle.
