Madden 12 1st Round Rookie Ratings

I haven't been able to find anywhere to post/discuss rookie ratings for newly acquired 1st round picks, so here it is. Feel free to leave what you would rate any player coming into next year and also post what player/team you are most excited to play as.

Mine has got to be Cam Newton/Carolina; this is a perfect fit for me as I am a longtime Auburn fan and pull for the Panthers and live in Charlotte.

    Cam Newton:
    86 speed, 92 agility, 94 acceleration, 93 throw power, 79 throw accuracy,
77 throw accuracy short, 81 throw accuracy medium, 76 throw accuracy long.

Don't forget to put down anywhere between 50-60 rating for Intangibles.

Honestly the best rookie player this year in my mind is Patrick Peterson. He deserves the highest rookie ratings although I'm not about to go out and attempt to guess what they will be.

After Peterson I would say Von Miller is next.

This is something that has surprised me throughout all this process. Having payed attention to him since he was recruited by Auburn out of juco, IMO he has no intangible problems. He is a leader and a hard worker; just look at what he did for the team and what his coaches say about him.
That being said I hope that he can sit for a year and be used sparingly so he can learn the offense, because pretty much any QB coming into the NFL will need help where they can get it.
The main things going for Cam are that the Panthers actually have an above average o-line that was hurt most if last year, and that the coaching staff is totally new and we were able to get Mike Shula as the QB coach, who will be able to help him along the way.

No doubt on both of those. I didn't really get all the stuff on Von Miller until I saw some of his highlights and heard about his physical numbers on ESPN last night. John Fox has drafted LBs exceptionally well as of late (Thomas Davis, drafted as a safety but switched, and Jon Beason, both Perenial Pro Bowlers) but I am not 100% Miller wouldn';t ahve been better suited in a 3-4 were he could blitz a little more.
Peterson is a monster. Nuff sead.

I have seen A.J. Green play in peson at least 4 times, and IMO he will be a top notch WR in 1-2 years. Is it enough to convince Carson Palmer to stick around?

From what I've read, Newton isn't too big on studying and was late to meetings. And don't forget: in the offense he ran, the coaches simply held up a sign with a number on it and that was the play. He didn't have to memorize or understand complicated plays, audibles, etc. He's going to have make up a lot of studying.

Haven't heard anything on late to meetings; other then that that is why IMO he should be used sparingly for a year or two. I am all in for getting a veteran (McNabb????) and letting him learn the tricks of the trade.

The aspect that people forget about Cam learning offenses is that he learned 3 of them in 4 years. I dont know about how well he knew the playbook in Florida, but he learned the Blinn Juco playbook in 1 year and won the Juco NC, and then went to Auburn, where the offense is based on execution and having years under your belt is a major plus and won the NC again.
Even someone as skilled as Tim Tebow had the advantage of learning the offense at UF for a year before playing full time; Newton was able to come in, and in the first year in an offense, blow away the record books and win the Heisman trophy.
His learning curve is exceptional as well; his progression as the season continued grew exponentially. As Auburn Offensive Coordinator Gus Malzahn said numerous times, he never makes the same mistake twice.

Since I'm a Skins fan I'll guess Ryan Kerrigan.

                    Ryan Kerrigan - OLB
                    Overall - 79
                    Spd. 82 , Acc. 79, Strength 86, AWR 72, Tkl 72, Power Mover 84, Fin Move 75
                    Sta. 84

What does that look like? 4.7 speed, 31 bench reps, Good Awr, High Motor

All rookies ratings should be in the 70s or lower.

                        Nice on Kerrigan. Agree 100%.

Anyone have opinions on Gabbert vs Locker? Who will be rated better? How about Ponder? I'm very interested to see how all these QBs compare.

I would give Patrick Peterson and Von Miller high 70s ratings for overall. Perhaps 78 or 79. Cam Newton, I'd give a mid - to - high 60s, just because of his awareness and accuracy.

I agree- but only if there is a good progression system.
That being said it frustrates me when all the rookies come in as physical beasts with low awareness, or how none of the rookies have even decent awareness when some should (Peterson's should be 75-80 range).
