    Quarterback Auto Move "OPTION"

Madden 12 should have QB Auto Move in the pocket. Have it as an option to turn on and off. The CPU can move the QB around in the pocket while you make your reads and go through progressions of the defense - have the CPU go by the player's tendency. If its Michael Vick, he will run, if its Kerry Collins he wont. I feel this would add realism, because there would be a true blindside to the QB and you may see that rusher coming off the edge but the CPU auto moving the QB wont and you will have to take the sack instead of skittering away like you would do unrealistically cause hes coming from behind you. That is simulation football, can't argue about that.

    Opinions?

Please don't bash, I want to suggest anything to make Madden a better game, just like you guys.

I don't think the CPU playing QB for you is 'simulation football'. If you are watching your blindside you aren't making reads, it's give and take. The Madden camera view is more simulation than proponents of other views would like to admit.

The CPU doesn't have total control over the QB, this idea is to just have him move around according to his tendencies. And you have control of his throwing and decision making.

Perhaps you have tunnel vision? Because even when I am making my reads down field... my peripheral vision can pick up that pass rusher coming off the edge from BEHIND my QB.... this is an idea to make it a little more realistic.

I really don't see how being able to see the whole pocket, my blindside, all my receivers, and both sidelines at once is simulation.

Meh, I brought this up a while back in another thread.

            QB Auto Movement feature:

            Positives:

-It would allow you to look downfield and pay complete attention to recievers and pass coverage without worrying about the defensive rush around your QB.

-The Auto movement could be based off of different ratings, for example, pocket presence and elusiveness.

-It would add to the beauty of replays with the new broadcast camera system in place.

-This feature could be used in online matchups. It would prevent the gamer from taking the snap, dropping back 20 yards and throwing a perfect strike to a reciever while attempting a ballerina move.

Look, if you don't make the proper reads and hold the ball too long you're going to get sacked. As it stands right now your attention to detail down the field takes aways the users ability to make the right moves in the pocket. Watch a replay in Madden. I think it would add a simulation type atmosphere to the game. Even as it stands right now there isn't much movement out of the QB in Madden. A simple 5 step drop and some knee bending equals not realistic. Hell, even the knee bending (squatting), whatever you want to call it along with the throwing motion needs work.

Full control of the QB would be given back to the user (controller vibration) after the QB auto move feature crosses the line of scrimmage (if the QB makes it to the LOS) and the QB becomes a running back. Then it's take the hit or slide down, your choice.

Exactly, its so unrealistic when you have Dwight Freeney coming from behind you full speed and the QB is looking up field and you just take off with him. It should be auto movement. Force you to play just like that QB is supposed to be played. If you're using Michael Vick, he will run around in the pocket and scramble to the outside - and even though it is Auto Movement, we can decide to take off with him and run for yards or continue looking downfield to make a play with a Wide Reciever.

^^^ I want to play the game not have the CPU Dictate for me If I should scramble or not....the reason the Auto drop back was put it was because of the QB DRAW exploit but that just made it easier for nano's to get in...

It is however easier to throw quick passes & run with the QB if your under center for example ( SINGLEBACK TIGHT SNUGS )....

the drop back animation should be taken out IMO but if users decided to run back 20 yards or towards the sidelines & across their bodies passes should be way off target but then you'll have the people who will complain so at the end of the day no body wins......

Who cares if they complain? The game is garbage now because EA has built it around kids and complainers who can't play sim ball. Dropping back 20 yards and completing passes is pathetic! And it's done notoriously in EA's game, especially in NCAA. So they should make animations where the ball floats automatically to a defender. This would force people to drop back realistically or go play another game. Also for those who insist on scrambling, there should be far more injuries to the QB.

I'm sick of playing these games where QB's are always being used like Barry Sanders. While there are rare QB's who can get 10-15 snaps per game, it still remains just that. RARE. So an auto feature for the QB would be fine with me for pass plays. The only issue with this is EA getting a rating system that actually works.

Ex: If the QB's awareness level is low, then he more than likely takes the sack. If he's a scrambler, with a low awareness, although he does run he doesn't always find open running lanes. Like running up the backs of his o-linemen. And for the higher awareness, things would work in their favor. Like moving out of the pocket, throwing the ball away (auto) or even in the grass at a WR's feet. Things that keeps the game playable and not a glitch fest or exploit party.

How about the controller vibrating, to tell you that the pocket broke down and you need to get rid of the ball ASAP.

i like that idea, based more around the qb's awareness attribute or something. but the auto movement sort of contradicts realism in user control for me. i don't know how fair it is to be able to stare down the defense and not worry about pocket presence since your qb will automatically move around the pressure by himself. but i'm never opposed to options, and might be a good learning tool for user learning to value of an 'internal clock'.

                          Re: Quarterback Auto Move "OPTION"

                          NO...........

Too many auto things in this series as it is. People need to own up and just admit to themselves that they are just not good at Madden.

You shouldn't need a vibrating controller to tell you the pocket has broken down, that is what you have eyes for.

And there shouldn't be more injuries for scramblers either......Instead they should just lower the fatigue rating for skill positions like WRs, QBs, RBs. That should be no higher then 75.

I did that when I re-rated the NCAA 11 rosters. That way if you kept running the same play over and over with the same person, you got tired and got tired quick.

Which lead to that person being subbed out. IF EA simply did that, it would greatly cut down on people doing the same thing repeatedly.

Auto QB Pocket moving....No. If anything the accuracy should be severely cut while throwing while moving away from the LOS, meanwhile it should be at it's highest when a QB has his feet set. I like how they have a modifier for throw in the run but would liek to see the effectiveness cut down a bit.

In APF if you tried to throw without being set (stell dropping back/falling away) the pass was terrible "as it should be". To much automatic stuff is a bad thing. Like mentioned previously the camera view in this game is "UN-SIM", in all honesty it should be more zoomed in but that's like to never happen.

If anything they should allow a tutorial mode for users who're unfamiliar with pocket presence to see how to move in the pocket, the only concession I could see is maybe this as "only available on Rookie/Pro". It should not be available for a user to take online.

They use to have a pocket presence VR trainer in the past with the tennis balls being fired at you. Same way they had a RB mini game, tackling mini game and DB pass coverage mini game trainer.
