Agree completely. One thing I like about Maycock is he can tell you WHY he likes a player in football terms. He breaks it down. Kiper just gets going all high energy talking about how much he likes a player because he's "insert generic football term".

I would hire him quick If i was a Owner. It seems like he will make great picks for my team and they would fit my teamComment

Re: 2011 NFL Draft Thread
Should be fun to watch, Cam Newton wants #2, doesn't sound like Clausen wants to give it up:
Two days after Carolina drafted Cam Newton No. 1 overall, the Auburn quarterback stood beside Panthers passer Jimmy Clausen at a charity kickball game, both players donning shirts emblazoned with No. 2.
"It's mine right now," Clausen told The Charlotte Observer in a story for Sunday's editions. "We'll see what happens."
Clausen has welcomed Newton to the fold, but he's not about to hand over the No. 2 jersey -- or the No. 1 role.

Have to see how this plays out, you know Clausen has a huge ego and isn't going to want to give it up but I would think Carolina is going to back Newton and I won't be surprised if he gets it.Favorite Teams:

Lol he can give clausen his signing bonus and he can have the number, clausen didnt even wear 2 in college thoughShould be fun to watch, Cam Newton wants #2, doesn't sound like Clausen wants to give it up:

Exactly, I can't see why Clausen would care other than his ego, he knows Newton is going to take his job and I would bet he tries to hang onto #2 just to stick it to Cam.Favorite Teams:

Re: 2011 NFL Draft Thread
Ya ive heard while clausen wont show it publicly, hes pritty arrogent. Who knows though, if I was in clausens shoes I would say all the right things to the media but not let cam have the number. A distraction like this for cam, could cause clausen to win the job or at least would make cam either pay or wear a different number.PATS CELTICS SHARKS USC NEVADAComment

Very true, I'm not particularly fond of either of them and don't really think either will be a successful QB at this level so I'm in for watching any kind of potential drama between them lol.Ya ive heard while clausen wont show it publicly, hes pritty arrogent. Re: 2011 NFL Draft Thread
I'm a big fan of Mayock and his analyst skills. But recently, days prior to the draft, I've been checking some of Mayock's position rankings and I am surprised with some of his 2010 player projections.I would hire him quick If i was a Owner. It seems like he will make great picks for my team and they would fit my team
He put Gerald McCoy over Ndamukong Suh.
Aaron Hernandez was not even in his top 5 TE list, yet 7th round pick Dorin Dickerson was.
And he liked Earl Thomas more than Eric Berry.
Those picks kind of disappointed me. He makes great quick notes about each player selected, but I don't think he has the magic eye of finding a diamond in the rough.Comment

Re: 2011 NFL Draft Thread
exactually how ive felt the whole time, I never lived up to the pro style hype of clausen last year, and never lived up to the explosive hype of newton this year. personaly I just dont like either guys personality's, but I also never have thought they would be sucussful nfl qb's. I would love some sorta drama between themPATS CELTICS SHARKS USC NEVADAComment

Re: 2011 NFL Draft Thread
I pretty much ripped Ponder apart a few pages back, so I basically agree with you. Ponder had no business getting drafted until the third day, IMO.
I agree with you by-and-large. That said, I do think Trent Dilfer and Jon Gruden are competent specifically when evaluating quarterbacks.Comment

Re: 2011 NFL Draft Thread
overall I'm happy with the eagles draft. Over the last two years I think they have done well. But hard to say how well the defense will be. A Former Offensive line coach head of defense and so other pieces added. I don't know, couple that with no free agency yet its hard to say how well this drafted players will contribute. IMO I don't see immediate starters except first pick. I feel like they put their practice team together during the draft.Comment

Re: 2011 NFL Draft Thread
Indeed I really liked Dilfer and Gruden on the Draft they werent afraid to dish it out especially Dilfer, I just feel that Kiper focuses too much on the positives if a prospect that when atleast analyzing the players it seems he just barely mentions the negatives imoSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: 2011 NFL Draft Thread
Can he be a returner maybe? Looks pretty fast from what I looked up. I reconize the name but don't know why,did he get into some kind of trouble?Dude is 5'8 180 pounds of air. I think he needs to add 10 pounds and I to am surprised but, then again I'm kinda not. And if he has injury history I could see why teams would shy away from Noel although I was hoping SD would grab him. At his weight I think he can make a team if in the right situation.Comment
