Why does the computer mix up my lineup on days I sim?

Am I missing something? I could understand if they wanted to rest someone and this caused them to mix the lineup around, but all of my normal starters were playing and they just decided to mix it up.

It is really annoying, because I try to maximize my runs and offensive potential with the way I set my lineup and I also like to be able to see what works best and this is hard to do so when they just randomly mix up the lineup with no logic.

Anyone know a setting to change this or what may trigger this?

Make sure you have lineups/rotations set to manual so you control them.

doesn't matter - try it yourself

stupid cpu will mess up your lineups when you sim no matter what

only way around it is to start to play the game, ensure your lineup is the way you want it, then sim to the end.

needs to be fixed for next year - it's been broken for at least two years now

When your players get fatigued the computer takes them out of the lineup for rest. They plug in other guys and then use their logic to create a new lineup. If everyone has enough energy to play then your lineup will remain the way you set it.

I have noticed this as well. I think the CPU tries to determine the best use of your players, but really I don't think it matters. I have looked over the box scores and they don't always match up. For example, I have Tulowitzki leading off and he is leading the league in RBI's despite me not getting all that many when I play with him. In games I sim and he stays at lead off, he might get 4 rbi's, but it is impossible how he got them when no player at the bottom of my lineup got a run, hit, or even a walk. So where are these magic RBI's coming form? I have to assume it is just the numbers being generated based on the CPU's algorithm. My suggestion, just go with it. It works out in the end.

I usually go in and edit durability ratings based on age and position. If not the cpu substitutes way too much.

What should the durability rating be for starting position players (everyday players as opposed to platoon players)? Will this help with the sim lineup logic?

For example a young catcher I will edit his durability rating 82-85 due to it being a demanding position. An older catcher I would probably edit from 70-75.
A young shortstop ex:Andrus would be at 92.
A top tier firstbaseman I would edit to 99.

the cpu ruins this even if you don't have any players sitting for fatigue. they'll use the same 8 or 9 guys in the order they deem correct

                  it's ridiculous

A workaround for that is to start the game and then fast forward to the end.

Does this happen to other teams not controlled by me? If using the 30 team control for franchise, do the lineups for the other 29 teams get messed up?

Yes the CPU will change lineups even if you have all 30 teams controlled based on fatigue levels.

The best way to make sure your lineup in intact is to do sportscast manager(i think that's what it's called) you can set your lineup and start the game and then back out and it will sim to the end. Much quicker then Play game and sim to the end.

Really? Im gonna try this when I start my franchise.

if you want access to the game log to see attendance (since it's not reported by game anywhere else) and at bat by at bat results, you have to start the game like you're playing it.

if you're just looking for speed, sportcast manager is best.

When the orginal starters have their fatigue back up... Are those players placed back in the spot in the lineup they were before??
