What new ratings should be added to 2k12?

What new attribute ratings should be added?

    Some of my suggestions are:
Ability to shoot with non-preferred hand
Ability to shoot a contested jump shot

2nd Bounce Rating. Guys that can keep hopping for tips around the basket without having to go through a new gather to jump in the air.

Seperate ratings for speed and dribble speed

      Flop tendency/rating

Minutes/Player Role tendency so the CPU does not start players like Jamal Crawford in Association

      Fadeaway rating

      Off/Def Box out tendency/rating

Seperate mid range and long range ratings

Tendency/Ability to shoot a contested jumpshot

i was thinking like play style or system.........like some players would fit better in a up-tempo system.........but i think this MOSTLY would be for PG's........up-tempo half court.........idk

We have a shot in traffic rating.

          1. Dribble speed and running speed is already distinguished in the game. Not two ratings but running speed is in fact faster.

          2. Control all 30 teams and this won't be an issue.

I thought this rating was for when you are inside the paint and trying to shoot with lots of players crowded around.

As much as I hate flopping, this is an integral part of the NBA now. The reason why it's so easy to score in the paint is because in 2K11, they actually play honest defense. In the real NBA, the defender will either wrap you up or take a foul most of the time.

A Fancy Pass Tendency rating is needed IMO in order to separate the game's great dime-droppers from everyone else. The rating should control the frequency with which a "Fancy Pass" animation will automatically trigger. All new, flashier animations would be required. Furthermore, "Fancy Passes" should not be merely cosmetic. They should be far more contextually effective when they trigger (ie. lobs, lasers, bounce passes depending on the situation) and they should be 100% accurate (and un-stealable).

Has been in the game since 2K7 or 2K8.

Yes, but it isn't properly implemented. The "Fancy Passes" that exist in the game aren't nearly as effective as they should be, don't occur often enough or in the right context, and just plain don't make much of a difference. I want "Holy ****" moments when these passes happen. I want the passes to be as impressive visually as they are effective. Let's give passing the same love dunking and shooting animations have been given and tie the new animations into a rating that actually matters.

IMO the passing system needs a total overhaul.

i think there should be separate ratings for crowded jumpshots vs. crowded lay ups/dunks/finishes inside. someone like ray allen doesn't finish in traffic as well as someone like a lebron james, but allen shoots jumpshots in traffic @ an elite level. and someone like blake griffin finishes inside well, but isn't proficient at making tightly contested jumpshots.

One rating I've wanted to see, but is honestly covered in a lot of seperate categories, is a Playmaker rating. The higher the playmaker rating, the more electrifying you play on the court.

Some attributes I think would really add to the game and separate elite players from mediocre ones (some of these I've been thinking about since 2k9):

                            * Off Hand Scoring: A players ability to score with the opposite of his preferred hand
*Shoot Off Contact: How well a player scores off contact - this could also be divided into one attribute for layups/dunks and one for shots
                            * Shoot In Motion: How well a player scores when in motion, ie. fades and drifters
                            * Anticipation: How well a player reads the offense for a charge
                            * Tip Rebound: Defines how well a player tips a rebound out of the pain and to a teammate (the lower the rating the more random the recipient of the tip is)
                            * Score Off Tip: The players ability to put up a dunk or layup after a tip
                            * Composure: Defines how a player chooses his shots, ie. if he shoots the first chance he gets or works for a better shot
                            * Accelleration: How fast a player achieves full sprint which is defined by the Speed attribute
                            * Recovery: This is just my term for the 2nd bounce attribute that iLLosophy wanted, it essentially defines how fast a player can get off the ground again (jump) after a landing (after a rebound or block attempt)
                            * Toughness: This decides if a player is able to overcome pains from injuries and play through them, or if he's incapacitated by even minor injuries
                            * Work Ethic: This plays into how I think they should revamp the potential attribute. Thusly a players Potential defines how high a players ceiling is (ie. max overall rating) and their Work Ethic defines how fast/slow a player develops, and also how fast/slow a player declines

I also have some major revamps of tendencies I'd like to see 2k do, but that's a whole other topic
                            Just my tuppence worth...

Well said. That's why I wanted a shooting contested jump shot rating.
