Thanks for your patience.
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Looks good but is it just me or does it seem like they're sidestepping WAY too fast? Look at :30, look at the acceleration the dbacks getting from a dead stop, and then how they're almost sidestepping faster than the receivers are running.. EA really needs to bring in a scientist sometimes lol.
Favorite teams: Philadelphia Eagles, Boston Red Sox, North Carolina Tar Heels

Great Video... although I did get a chuckle at the very beginning when Haumiller says "another big addition to this year's gameplay is zone coverage"... even he recognizes it didn't exist in 11...
One thing that I noticed when watching this video was the defensive and offensive line play. I liked how the tackles used a kick-slide to move back, and the defensive lineman just didnโt stop upon contact they continued to drive the offensive lineman. The play where only three defensive players rushed the center and right guard worked together while the left guard sunk and checked the left tackle. So far I am pretty excited to see more game footage.
Does this mean North Texas will be able to shut down the Oklahoma passing game?
Nah, it just means Zone coverage plays aren't pure garbage anymore, So long as they didn't over do it and make the players friggin physic again. Just because they say the AI will now do this and that, doesn't mean that they'll perfectly execute it every down, as they shouldn't.

I think this addition to the game is not indicating all teams will be dominating and only running zone because everyone knows zones can be picked apart very easily the throws in the game were just plain bad and stupid i.e Jacory Harris(just like in real life j/k ) just to show how they AI in the game plays receiver's routes instead if their play art.
So I mean if the game has some aspect of the game where more upset are likely to happen against the user then I would say yes its possible they could put up a fight against the sooners given its a bad day for the sooners.

Watching it a few more times, I'm starting to feel that they may have made zone coverage a little too strong. Won't know for sure until the game comes out, or from the demo, but a lot of routes that should work on a zone seem useless. If the HB in the flat route is gone, does that mean that zones will destroy a HB screen pass?

Ok here's my question. If they take away the skinny post and the flats, besides running how can u beat the Cover 2 sink? U can run a drag but that's minimal yardage. It's going to get weird.
Playaction action could help, the underneath should be there... If this is done right you will need to know where to throw the ball..

As someone who uses 5- Wide as my primary offense, I run a lot of those quick little out routes... and they will still be there, you'll just have to use them against Man.
Another thing I think people need to realize and is one thing that I think EA has done an excellent job w/ is the Lead Passing. Keep in mind, I am not talking trajectory or loft, but lead passing has been a big key to passing successfully.
Say you have a guy that runs a 10 yard hook route against this new zone defense... instead of just throwing the ball to the guy where the defender can jump in front for a pick or knock it away, you can throw left... if the defender is on his right, right if the defender is on the left, and when he's squared up right behind him, you throw it low... forcing your WR to go down and scoop the ball.
The lead passing feature is something that I rarely see mentioned, but it is a huge benefit to the passing game. Now, if they can get trajectory and loft correct... watch out!
