Thank God, anybody on 3rd-12 could fire the ball up the middle to the slot WR and have success at least 80% of the time. It was one of the biggest money plays in years...

Poor zone coverage in NCAA 11 was the single most broken part of the game. Its music to my ears when the EA guy said "we are allowing zone coverages to take away the skinny post by the slot reciever and tight ened"...

Agreed. I hated knowing that whenever I needed a 1st down conversion, I could just call a play with a skinny post to a WR or a TE post and be able to pick up the 1st down.Poor zone coverage in NCAA 11 was the single most broken part of the game. Let the defense keep the upper hand just fix the player movement (if it is not possible for both keep the strong zones) lots of us complained about not having defensive struggles they potentially give us that then months later complain about it.Comment

#40 in the white uniform, not sure which team that is, back pedals as fast as the receiver he is covering. That is not good. Also, the defender (purple uniform) side stepping as fast as the receiver, then picking the ball off is all wrong as well.
Those things can be fixed, but how many more problems will we see that need to be addressed before the demo drops, then before the game drops also?
I will buy this game if it is playable without seeing to much nonsense, but at this point, it does not look playable to the point of even a moderate level of enjoyment.
To those of you who say this kind of stuff doesn't bother, that's your problem, but I want my $60 to go toward a game that I will play for at least 6 months out of the year instead of 6 weeks or even 6 days.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Video - New Zone Coverage
The lack of backpedaling is really bugging me. The defenders backpedaled, while dropping into coverage, in NCAA 11. It makes no sense to remove the backpedaling animation.Comment

I'm sorry, I can't live with players shuffling and still keeping up with players that are sprinting.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Video - New Zone Coverage
That's how I look at it. People say that people skate and shuffle in this game, and I've never really noticed it when I play. I just see them moving, and then I read the defense off of where they're moving, or if they're in man. I mean, if they fixed it, I'd probably notice it, but it's not major for me. I'm in the minority on this one, though.Last edited by Roggie; 05-09-2011, 09:41 AM.North Carolina Tar Heels

Re: NCAA Football 12 Video - New Zone Coverage
Well sorry man.
The fact of the matter is, this will not be fixed this gen. The engine just won't allow it. Its the only explanation. Its been in every next gen EA football game since Madden 06. Its improved but if they could figure out a new way for the players to plant and move correctly I am sure they would have by now. I'm not defending them here, just saying what I believe to be true.
And just to be clear. Just because I can live with it doesn't mean I'm ok with it.Last edited by PVarck31; 05-08-2011, 11:44 PM.Comment

Looking good IMO. I'm sure there will be some issues but as long as EA is getting the game (finally) to a point where there's more of a chess match when playing, I'll be happy.Joshua:

Re: NCAA Football 12 Video - New Zone Coverage
Well to the best of my knowledge FIFA is running on a different engine. I believe they used last gens engine or at least part of it. Madden started with a whole new one which was rushed. I know I sound like I'm defending EA here but to be fair I thought every Madden this gen was, well I would get banned if I said how I really feel. I just don't think they can fix the sliding, gliding, ice skating or whatever you want to call it, fully. There is some sort of limitation preventing that.
This just my opinion. I could be totally wrong. But I believe this to be the case.
I just don't think the developers are that inept. If they could, they would have fixed this issue.Last edited by PVarck31; 05-17-2011, 10:05 PM.Comment
