Re: Madden NFL 12 Franchise Mode Details, More Coming Monday (IGN)
I just want to reiterate, a lot of the questions asked in this thread will be answered in the blog coming out tomorrow (I believe). I'm holding off addressing anything until that time.
But I do want to respond to Nza, simply because of the time and effort he's put in to make PC Madden's franchise so outstanding and he deserves the attention. I know him from FF, which was introduced to me by Spin16 and Bakersville when I helped design and test features for Gommo's MaddenAmp for Madden 06.
I don't think they would have hired me if they hadn't made that committment.Originally posted by NzaA multi year commitment to the mode would be great but obviously impossible to guarantee at this point I suppose.Last edited by adembroski; 05-15-2011, 01:57 PM.There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Franchise Mode Details, More Coming Monday (IGN)
I just want to point out that this is the most arbitrary standard I've yet heard for justifying this line of criticism in Madden.I disagree! The fact that they failed miserably with their scraped current-gen engine is not a valid excuse, IMO. Had they changed the name/IP on this generation, you'd been right, but Madden is one continuous series, so I do believe it's justifiable to compare across console generations.
This analogy simply doesn't work. When features were in Madden at one point, they do not become new features when they are relaunched. Just as people wouldn't think of the BigMac as a new burger if McDonalds decided to discontinue the BigMac and relaunch it 5 years later.Comment

agreed but more must prefer offline than online, OTW offline wouldn;t be getting the love....so...fix offline first & make online a parallel mode laterBummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.Comment

Tell that to Taco Bell, they always do exactly what you're saying. Plus, like Chooe said, its just not a good analogy.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Adembroski thats probably the best news i have heard in a long time. im glad there is a guy like Us within the Madden team to keep things in proper perspective. Although i love Online Franchise ( i ran a 12 team league last year for 5+ seasons) theres nothing better than having a franchise that you have run at your own pace like offline. The foundation seems to be coming along great i cant wait. ThanksI just want to reiterate, a lot of the questions asked in this thread will be answered in the blog coming out tomorrow (I believe). Re: Madden NFL 12 Franchise Mode Details, More Coming Monday (IGN)
I think it comes down to innovation. Are you implementing things we've never seen before in a football video game and are those features actually important and fun to use? While I welcome the things they are adding this year, I can't help but wonder what would be in the game this year if those features had been implemented years ago.
Obviously EA and Tiburon have their features outlined for the future, so there's not much sense in complaining if they're only going off what they have planned. However, I understand people's frustration in the lack of innovation over the years as it's concerned for franchise mode.Comment

i still play Madden 07 and 05 because how much i Love the Franchise mode
the Radio Show , newspaper , player morale etc. the scouting was actually helpful not confusing
its not hard to ask , they have the title EVERY year
they get paid , make the game Better or lose your Damn Job , plain as Day....
the definition of Insanity is doing the Same Thing over and OVER and expecting a Different result.....

I think he thought you meant team entrances... there is (to my knowledge) no functionality in M12 for what you are talking about... a draft pick walking up on stage.Follow me on Twitter @cavemangamer

Re: Madden NFL 12 Franchise Mode Details, More Coming Monday (IGN)
See, I don't have a problem with people saying this. Innovation is a lot different than "bringing back a feature". It is true that implementing a feature that was on last gen games is not innovative, but other than the initial design process, it takes just as much effort to develop an old idea as it does a new one. My logic is that if it was a good idea last gen, then I have no problem with them putting it in this game. To be honest, if you had asked me after M11 what feature from a past gen game I would want in this game it would have been player roles. I am sure others feel differently, but I liked the feature.I think it comes down to innovation. Are you implementing things we've never seen before in a football video game and are those features actually important and fun to use?
