What's funny is that this same thing caught me and I'm not that immersed in franchise, sometimes even skipping pre-season.
Sounds like EA went IN this year. I am thoroughly impressed. I usually play through a couple to 3 seasons in my franchise then that's it. Most times, I let the CPU handle all the decision making off season and I keep it moving but this is all intriguing. I cannot complain about the effort put in this year. I am just hoping that next year, we get a NEW animation engine, somewhat on par with Backbreaker like how NHL 11 is and what Elite 11 was attempting.
I'm really, really looking forward to this game.Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 - Switch Teams in Offseason, Scouting Reworked, Free Agent Bidding
What I actually think it is this year is EA got rid of the people who had the mindset, "the people dont know what they want! WE know what they want and thats what they are gonna get!" people and put in a staff that actually LISTENS to the boards and puts stuff in that matters. Not sayin it was ian at all but rather a littel higher than that. In any case it doesnt matter as long as it gets fixed and it looks like we are all gonna have some fun this yearWhat's funny is that this same thing caught me and I'm not that immersed in franchise, sometimes even skipping pre-season.

I am going to say something I haven't said on this generation of consoles...
I am definitely buying Madden on release.

I'm going to assume this is the case, and hopefully it is, but I hope we're able to edit everything with players.
I know in NBA Live we were able to edit players but they had certain things locked so you couldn't edit them.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Madden NFL 12 - Switch Teams in Offseason, Scouting Reworked, Free Agent Bidding

Wow....... I feel like an idiot. I know someone posted a thread about this and how in the PS2 days you had the check box next to each game and you could check which games you wanted to play and I thought they took it out, and this whole time I been asking for this to return it's been in the game the whole time.... I could have enjoyed Franchise even more this year if I would have known that.
Now only if I didn't already create all the Rookies in the 1st Round and some of the second round, I would just sit back and enjoy Franchise Mode even more by playing other games just not mine.
Thank You!!!!!!!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 - Switch Teams in Offseason, Scouting Reworked, Free Agent Bidding
I somewhat agree with this but I think this touches on a even bigger potential immersion factor, that can now be added to the game. A while back, Ian and the other Madden devs were doing a podcast in which they said they could add an option to hide OVR or all ratings, easily. However, they said that Madden would need some other system to differentiate players if you couldn't see OVR or ratings.
Now, With the addition of player roles and the other features to differentiate players, I think they can add the option to hide OVR or all ratings. That way, not only would preseason matter but so would potential practice and every game. The only true way to evaluate ALL players, ALL year, would be on the field.Comment

I am impressed! that is a big undertaking. a lot of code will be written! Kudo's to the EA Dev team and Creative management to head in this direction. as a offline franchise player this means 'heart' to me man! MADDEN 12 has my hype to real so far!____________________

Re: Madden NFL 12: The Basics - IGN (new information)
Awesome feature list. AI will still be a huge factor in how well franchise mode plays as it directly relates to the ability of the mode to stay challenging past the first few seasons.
But even just a revamp in how things are done is welcome. The mode has been basically the same since 2004 or so - in fact it has probably only gotten slowly worse. A reversal of this, even a small one, is a great start.
Also, this means CPU to CPU trades, right?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 - Switch Teams in Offseason, Scouting Reworked, Free Agent Bidding
My statement was meant for the cpu, all the cpu did was take the overall rating into consideration. Now if a player plays well in pre season and the starter does not they may give him a shot at the starting job. before the only time a player would jump over another in the depth chart was during the off season after player progression.Comment
