Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

I said the other day as long as future draft picks and a fixed IR were in the game, I would get it. And so I shall.

THE ONLY THING that I was hoping to see that wasnt in there was the ability to edit and create coaches. BUT, that is minor compared to all the other additions.

Day one...fo sho. Going to reserve it this week.

So what is EA saving for E3? Or are they just going to demonstrate the features for everyone.

WOW! I'm blown away by this. They're pretty much adding everything I've wanted in franchise mode all at once.

I am very intrigued by the roster management aspect. How cool is it that you will have to play an unscouted rookie to get a sense of his skill set! It's also very cool that you'll have to decide in the pre-season between keeping a veteran and keeping a younger guy who may turn out to be a diamond in rough if you give him enough playing time to see his abilities. For the first time ever the pre-season will be both meaningful and exciting.

Team chemistry for both the HUM and CPU sounds like it's going to be really important this year, which is also awesome. Player roles will hopefully make it harder for HUM teams to accumulate tons of bell-cow HBs or playmaking WRs, and it sounds like it will also prevent the CPU teams from accumulating lame talent combos.

One totally random thing that I thought was awesome: shutdown CBs will affect the DBs but also the other team's QB!!! That's awesome.

Hats off to the devs on this one.

              What I will be doing.
I love that the offline modes from both games will be see big changes(not sure about Dynasty). For a person like me who doesnt play online at all, this sure adds depth.

Still cautiously optimistic, but this was the blog that I personally was waiting for. I can see myself picking up Madden 12.
I was the exact same. First time in 13 years that I didn't buy a Madden game.

If these Franchise features work as advertised, and they hit a sweet spot with gameplay and presentation. EA will see all the customers they lost come back in droves.

Sounds like great news to me. Should I not be impressed by the demo (the gameplay), I'd be very tempted to buy Madden as long as the sim engine is reasonable.

One question though. I like the dynamic gameplans, but I couldn't decipher if they only worked for entire games or partial games. From the blog we know that the CPU will have a different gameplan if, say, Peyton Manning is injured, but what if he's injured in the 2nd quarter of a game? Will the CPU then change their gameplan during the game or wait with adjustments until the next game (if he's injured multiple games)?

No playable training camp drills like Madden 04 & 05, hell even Madden 96!!!!. Thats the main Franchise feature I wanted. I guess I will not be buying this game this year either, maybe next year, at least the are improving Franchise mode though.
