Re: Franchise Blog by Josh Looman
Man... the simulation stats have always been a downer for me. Specifically, actually almost exclusively, the 2000 yard rushers. The blog says they are fine tuning it, but it sounded tempered a bit. "It's the last thing we do before shipping."
If possible, just make 2000 yard rushers impossible. I'd rather NEVER see them then see them every year or every other year. It's only happened a handful (about 6, I believe) of times in NFL history.
Sorry to sound negative but it scares me! The rest of the stuff sounds excellent! I love the Dynamic Player Performance week in and week out. The NFL is not the MLB... it's not stats-based and formulaic. A player can be the best of all-time and still have a bad game a few weeks a season. I like that consistency is a big factor. Manning & Brady are going to be on for 14 of the 16 weeks. Vick may be ridiculous for 7 or 8 weeks of the season, and just average for the other 4 or 5 and maybe bad for 2 or 3 weeks. Really like that.
Hope it all comes to fruition as envisioned! They're really going all out this year.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

for years now Madden has been on wait and see mode for me. Some years I really liked and bought and others I just skipped. Head Coach 09 and Front Office Football got most of my attention. This blog makes me think this might be the year I can move on to Madden for my complete football sim. I love everything they have done here. Preordered Madden immediately after reading for the first time in years.Comment

If all of what was mentioned here makes it into the game and works well, they will have gotten a customer back.Comment

The stats were screwed up after the first couple of patches. The simulation stats were fine out of the box. Might be thinking of M10.Man... the simulation stats have always been a downer for me. Re: Franchise Blog by Josh Looman
After 6 years of not touching the franchise whatsoever, these are long overdue.
But if Madden continues to make these big changes, people will be a lot less jaded about the series. It's kinda like if Naughty Dog took four Uncharteds to finally get respectable. It's great that they finally got there, but they wouldn't be considered a AAA developer because of the long time it took to get there. Madden will similarly get to AAA status if these changes/additions are annual, and not on a half-decade basis.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
Finally!!! we have most of the last gen stuff that we have been missing so dearly on the current gen!!!
Even though i have bought every Madden every year since '01 every one on the current gen has left alot on the table. Madden 10 was the first one that gave me that fealing if they just put the last gen stuff on the current platform it would make a truely awesome digital football experiance. Madden 12 could be that experiance.
After reading that blog this is the first time since probaly madden 05 that i will actully count down the days until I can get my hands on a copy.
AUG. 30th YOU NEED TO GET HERE NOW!!!!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
For someone that bought first pc back in dos days to play nascar, & bought console to only play Football games, Love what they added to Franchise mode for sure... But will they use ESPN an make it really feel like a REAL Games, EA pre-game & half time shows...Break down the game, but sound like they on right path now, so maybe just maybe!!!!!! next year they can add pre-grame & half time showComment

Re: Franchise Blog by Josh Looman
I am thinking of Madden 10 because I skipped Madden 11.
It frustrated me that they tried to fix the stats with patches (or it was just a by-product of fixing other stuff), but only messed them up.
I actually never downloaded the patch that screwed the rushing statistics up in M10. It was bittersweet too because I've never played the patched gameplay...
But still, the blog specifically mentions rushing yards as a simulation stat that needs fine tuning, so that's why I'm assuming it's still a bit wonky.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
