Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

    my main question:

will we be able to edit the rookies' appaearances like skin tone and their faces? My concern is that with the real portraits they use for the rookies their generated players won't look like them.

Are we able to edit anything, not only the ratings?

And will we be able to edit the rookies before the draft? Or only after they have been drafted?

I hope the in season trades arent blown out of proportion. Not many trades occur except during the offseason or draft.

In game saves are a convenient thing for me...not a game breaker. With these improvements I am still excited as ever

Already pre-ordered now is just the long wait ahead but my excitement level is through the roof.
Well, no...two cycles. They made it pretty clear last year that the reason franchise would remain basically untouched in M11 was because to really do it right would take more than one year. The stuff we are reading about today is a direct result of that decision.

Glad to see the franchise will feature real preseason logic when it comes to the playing time the veterans vs. the rookies will receive. For example, the backups playing the entire 4th game.

You also benefit from signing older players as their knowledge of the game helps the team and players in that position. Instead of signing a younger player with around the same overall.

I wish the portraits were still kind of generated vrs real pictures, or at least maybe the hair style on the person could change. It will be annoying I think if you play long enough to where all players are generated, and you have like 15 of the same looking guys on the team. Wouldn't be different from past years, but seeing real faces kinda makes it easier to spot lol.

Overall sounds very awesome! NCAA and Madden seem to be day one buys this year for me. Well, unless NCAA's Dynasty is really revamped, cause I may not need to pick up Madden for a while if Online/Offline Dynasty modes are rockin'.

Quick one in case I missed it:

Is the potential rating among the items that can be edited for a player during Franchise?
                    Arsenal FC
                    New England Patriots
                    Boston Red Sox
                    Boston Celtics

                          Everything I like:

                          Player tendencies/trait progressions

Expanded rosters and the (realistic) cut days (3 after the first week, 8 after the last week)

Depth charts automatically swapped out to mimic what real teams do in the preseason when it comes to playing time (Backups playing the entire 4th game). - This could ALSO explain why, in the superstar blog, Lonyae Miller was above Felix Jones, Marion Barber, and Tashard Choice on the depth chart.

The new tiered scouting system for rookies. Gonna actually take the time to scout now, seeing that poor scouting leads to a draft full of busts haha.

I wasn't really sure of the bidding FA system only because I NEVER played HC09 before, so maybe someone could show me a video explaining how it worked then.

                          Player Roles

DEFINITELY the FUTURE DRAFT PICKS, and the ability to trade them. (With that being said, can we expect the Patriots to always look to trade their pick for future ones and always look for the best value?)

IR is improved, and now opens up a roster spot (Though I never really noticed it didn't in the past, haha. I just always cut that bum on my team I didn't really want.)

The Dynamic Gameplans in-season and Realistic player profiles (The Raiders should ALWAYS prefer speed haha)

Definitely like the tuned progression and dead weight logic

All the new stuff looked great but i didn't hear anything about the addition of RFA or draft compensation. This was something that was in last gen and i was hoping to get included. Really like that you had restricted free agents with draft compensation and unrestricted.

Since i didn't see it mentioned i'm going to assume its not in. Too bad but maybe next year.
