Re: Franchise Blog by Josh Looman
I have a lot of faith in Josh Looman and AJ. It appears that faith continues to be well placed. I like what I read so far.
It looks like w may finally have the best game of Madden. the next step is to improve game play and presentation to a lvel that rivals 2k, and we will see the bst Football game. Give it two or so years and then MAYBE. [given EA's track record]Comment

Couldn't agree more. I'm in the medical field, and constantly on call. Doesn't seem like this would be THAT hard to get back in place. But, I am pleased with all the other additions making their way back!Comment

Yeah, precisely. This is a franchise mode I can play over and over again.I have a lot of faith in Josh Looman and AJ. It appears that faith continues to be well placed. I like what I read so far.

I HUGELY doubt it. It seems like something that would be a likeness issue.
I would love for it. Especially the Tuck and Run traitComment

I will agree with others here, you made the right choice on this. This was really a bit of a gimick to me at times and also I would spend way to much time reloading saves to get these mini games done perfect just so I could boost stats the max amount. I think it was a bit of a thumb stick warrior arcade thing myself. Good move to add more features in its place!Dude, I really, really do feel your pain on this one, and I wish we could have done that. It was one of my favorites, and considering he designed it back on 2nd gen, I'm sure it's one of Looman's as well. It's one of those things where if we put that one thing in, all this other stuff is cut. It was a matter of volume. It's just such a big feature, it absolutely kills our ability to do anything else at all.
Looman and I both lamented that we couldn't get the college all-star game in either. God I miss that.Go Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, Wolverines!Comment

But the beautiful thing is, since we can edit all players now (including rookies), true sim players can do our research and edit the players' tendencies ourselves. And, if it's really accurate and the rookies are able to progress out of traits like "trigger-happy under pressure" just like in game generated rookies, we could have a truly fantastic base on our hands for franchise mode.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
to go along with this i hope they have different screens where we could sort through stats and such. maybe have one for "Rookie Class '12" or something. I know you can sort the age of players but that will give you everyone in the league at a certain age. Last Gen pulldown menus for stats and player info would work. This is what is getting me excited the most.
Last year, players would go up automatically regardless of their season stats. This years tuning is much more predictable. Players will go up or down based on their performance and age.
One thing to remember is that players are judged against players around their same age when deciding who should progress or not. So, if a rookie running back rushes for 500 yards and that is the best among his peers, he will progress the most in his age group.
Most players who are 32+ will decline every year unless they had the best years vs. their peers. If they did, they will typically stay the same or go down slightly.
Players in the prime of their careers can go up or down, but they cant go up as much as young players or down as much as old players. And yes, you guessed it. They are also judged only against the players around their age.DIE HARD Knicks, Yankees, and Titans fan...
