Sounds like they might have tried this year. I got last years game (because I got NCAA football to draft my guys), and I felt like I bought a game they didn't even try to make good. It was my 1st Madden since reg Xbox and half the features were missing and half the stuff didn't seem to work very well. Too bad I didn't wait one more year to play football... -

Exactly... some people just like to read their own posts. These upgrades started before Madden 11. They just weren't finished for that game which is why we got 0 upgrades to franchise last year, but don't kid yourself thinking Ian had nothing to do with these features.Follow me on Twitter @cavemangamer

Agreed. There's no way Madden 11 could have zero upgrades, then Madden 12 have all these tweaks, additions, and upgrades without them working on it before Madden 11. They probably wanted to package all this stuff together instead of adding some of it one year, then adding the rest later.Exactly... some people just like to read their own posts. Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
Well to be honest, that is always the Bears original plan. However every year their WR core gets severely injured and they have no choice but to use Hester as the #1 or #2 WR because they don't have anybody else.New video that just came up on Facebook, from EA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUdLS5yNky4
Some things I noticed:
Confidence Rating/Level (1-5 stars)
From the 2:20 mark, where he's talking about cut day, all five of those players, from Bolton to Glover, had the SAME generated picture. Hopefully that isnt an issue in the final build.
The Saints traded their 2013 1st and 3rd round picks for Devin Hester. I took a couple things from that: The Saints are CRA-ZAY, That's a cool feature, and I wonder how high Hester's potential is? Realistically it should be either a B or C, but closer to a C. Chicago knows this guy is best as a slot player, and I really wish Chicago would utilize him like the Pats use Welker.
Short video, but it is somewhat insightful.
And Sam Bradford really needs a sense of style. He has the Grandpa look going

For those asking, the only time the CPU will trade with the user or themselves is during the draft. No offseason or in season CPU initiated trades this year.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
This IMO is the single biggest question left for me. I think this is essential for it to be a viable Franchise mode - otherwise Trading players is like cheating since only Human controlled teams can execute trades.
CPU to CPU trades and CPU initiated to Human trades are a MUST for me.
Anyone have an answer?
From Pastaparde's post, he hints at CPU GM's doing trades. (I italicized the key part)
"Smarter General Managers: Better re-sign and cut logic. GMs make trades and sign free agents who fit their needs, with player roles factored in."
On Friday the first two new central features for Franchise mode in Madden NFL 12 were revealed to be Dynamic Player Performance and Player Roles. Now a whole list of improvements in addition to those have been uncovered. The Pre-Season will be taking on some importance through roster cuts and player ratings being uncovered, a
Can anyone confirm?
The CPU will initiate trades in the draft, but only when on the clock. I don't think they were able to fix the in season trades, but that rarely happens in the NFL anyways. Apparently the CPU will have a knowledge of the BAP and if the top is someone they don't need they will check to see if a lower drafting team has a need at that position and look to trade.
I think one of the devs posted during the draft that they were seeing similar trade numbers during their sims with what happened in this years draft.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
what can i say -- my patience has run out waiting for this game to catch up over the last 5 or 6 years. some are acting as though this is the first or second year on this gen when in reality they've had plenty of time to get this sort of thing properly addressed. i do appreciate that they've finally started to try and make a game again. but i cannot forget the years that they've phoned it in.This falls under the category you can't please everyone. They added a ton of stuff to franchise this year and can't add everything. Josh Looman said a year or two ago not everything was going to be added to franchise mode at once.
I never had time for the newspapers before and Bruno's voice was irritating after awhile. Also, our large local newspaper has taken a huge cut in what they provide and volume of subscribers. As someone said earlier, not many are reading newspapers anymore.
i have been known to be hard on this franchise. so in that light, i will not give them full credit until they complete a full game. i'd like to think that viewpoints such as mine have helped get this series going in the right direction. but in reality, it's because they've been getting sorely shown up by other players in the sports market. either way, i will eventually benefit.Last edited by blklightning; 05-16-2011, 07:02 PM.My score for Madden 13: 4.5/10
3 points for graphics, 1 point for the passable commentary, and a half point for the boxart. I can give no further points since the all over the place gameplay would ruin it anyway.Comment

No, no, nooooo. Jerry Angelo stated this: "There is no WR in this draft we feel is a #1 WR." Maybe he was speaking on everyone but AJ Green and Julio Jones, but I can't see how Jonathan Baldwin wasn't considered a #1 WR, at least.
Also, and Im wondering, but if most projected first rounders are between 79-85, then what will Da'Quan Bowers' rating be? I mean, at one point he was considered a #1 overall pick in March by Kiper and McShay before the injury concerns.
AND, for that matter, will injuries possibly affect progression/regression? If Matthew Stafford's shoulder/arm keeps getting hurt, can I expect his arm strength to decrease? This would pretty cool if it was in, but it's definitely not a dealbreaker.Comment

Kind of sucks but some CPU initiated trades are better than none. I guess during my franchise, I'll just execute trades during the draft if at all.
True that in season trades are few, but many can be very impactful. Just look at last year when the Bills traded Lynch to the Seahawks and the impact he had in the playoffs.
This is one area that would be great to fix for next season.Comment

I'm in. There will be problem areas, many of them of course, but they have made enough changes in the areas that matter to me to get my 60 bucks this year.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Personally, I think the fact that the CPU puts players on the trading block is fine with me. If I need a RB, im fine with scouring the block to see who's offering what, and we can negotiate from there. The CPU not trading in season could be a good thing anyway, because we could have a situation where The Eagles trade DeSean Jackson to the Rams for Steven Jackson or something. I think NBA 2k11 had sort of a safeguard where the Lakers weren't trading Kobe unless you gave both arms and both legs, so to speak, but it's not really a big deal. Again, to me.Thanks for the info.

So in about 5 years the Raiders will start drafting better? Jk. I'm salivating at the chance to really get immersed into franchise again.Because I live in van down by the river...Comment
