Transformation - Who Will You Make Into A Star?

After reading the Franchise Mode blog I started thinking... "Who would be fun to take control of and either slowly edit or simply use progression to turn into a star?"

    - BUSTS -
JaMarcus Russell - Trim him down from that dainty 300 lbs and make him into the QB some thought he could be.

Brady Quinn - Thinking about just giving this guy a chance to show he is the next Rick Mirer or Heath Shuler... (At least they got the chance... )

It depends on whether I'd be able to edit the potential grade or not. If I cannot edit that grade, I cannot slowly progress your players into stars, but have to cheat the system by increasing the ratings.

I'd like to transform Vernon Gholston into a elite pass rushing OLB opposite Suggs on the Ravens roster. And as a backup plan, I'd settle with turning Sergio Kindle into a injury-free player

I'll probably try to resurrect JaMarcus Russell and turn him into an elite NFL quarterback. Only because he is IMO the worst bust of all-time
      NFL: New England Patriots
      NBA: Boston Celtics
      NCAA: Michigan Wolverines, UNH Wildcats
      NHL: Boston Bruins
      MLB Boston Red Sox

In so many words, you said it.

The Browns didn't give Brady Quinn a real shot. Hard to label him as a bust. He got 10 games in Cleveland, and that's as moribund of a franchise as there is in the NFL. No one ever works out there, especially if it's not on the defensive side of the ball.

The Browns are a bust franchise. Hard to blame Quinn. Anyone with a brain had to know it would end bad with Derek "I can't hit 5-yard passes" Anderson

I always called him "Clown Shoes"... Although, he would be another not-so fun one to use.

I'll agree that Quinn didn't really get a fair shot but that's how the NFL is. And the problem Cleveland has had since coming back is bad decision making in the front office. To finally have a GM like Heckert and our whole staff on the same page of what they want to do is a breath of fresh air compared to what fans have had to endure since 1999.

Hopefully Colt Mccoy gets more than just this year, if there is a year. I think he could be really really good

why dont you use a Underrated QB instead of "Damaged Goods"

try using Graham Harrell or Dan LeFevour
one is Perfect for a Spread system since he is a Mobile QB (Lefevour since his nickname in College was Tebow Light)

Harrell is more like Peyton or Tom , he sits in the Pocket and throws Lasers to his many WR's
yet neither got a shot , if the Bills would have got one of them i think they would have Shined ... we will never Know though

its a waste taking players who havnt produced in over 3 years

get someone who needs a shot , not Hyped Player
i always sign one of them because they may not be Flashy like Tebow or Brdford but they can get the JOB done and be Developed

In this case, I think I would like to see what I can do with someone that is a 60 OVR with decent accuracy and just run a west coast offense.

Not following in the Bust category, but I would like to turn Mallett into a star. Play with Brady for another year or two and then trade him away for some draft picks and let Mallet take over.

If we are looking at Busts--maybe Vernon Gholston --the Pats need a Pass Rushing DE and his speed should still be ok..If progression works based on stats this year, you could turn him into at least an 80 player after a few years

                      Niice

im gonna Trade for one of them if not both for the Rams Franchise(whe ever i decide to use them)

that way i have Taletned Depth behind Bradford who can also operate outta the Spread (plus im sure his Injury rating is still low because of his shoulder so im sure the Investment will pay off)

if he doesnt get hurt than at least i know i have Young guys behind him so i dont have to worry about spending alot of money when i sign them to 7 year deals since they cant ask for alot with no experience

Re: Transformation - Who Will You Make Into A Star?

I agree with the Brady Quinn talk. The man never got a fair shake. Miami should have drafted him instead of a punt returner they traded a few years later, but I'm not sure they would have been any better for his development. Then again, anything is better than Cleveland.

As for Dan LeFevour, as a CMU student, I can vouch for the man's underrated potential (with the caveat below) and it's a shame that the Bears didn't even give him a chance. Prior to the Bengals drafting Dalton, I was hoping Cincy would give him a legit shot at the starting role. I have picked him up more than once in franchises to use as a solid back-up and turned over the keys to a Bills franchise once to him with disastrous results, haha. I'd like to bump his potential in M12 and see what can be done with him.

Graham Harrell, on the other hand, isn't underrated at all; he, like Colt Brennan, played against no body in college and put up outstanding numbers so fans think they're something special. For that matter, you can say the same about LeFevour. NFL scouts make mistakes, but they're rarely that fundamentally off-base to collectively miss "underrated" players like Harrell.
The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.

yea Lefevour is a Beast im glad some actually knows who he is

and to NFL teams he is , but the Packers got him on their Roster because they know he can run the spread and the Pack is all about the Spread in GB

plus Harrell has really good short and medium accuracy ratings in Madden thats why i suggested him

Will Jamarcus Russell even be in the game this year? While I don't have any interest in manually changing any of the players, I think this is a very interesting topic.

I'd personally love to trade for Matt Flynn and try to build him up. He seems like he could be a good starter.

Another guy I'd like to give a shot would be Brian Brohm. I think he's a good player, but who knows. Maybe could build him into a solid starter.
