Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
LOTS of factors
in Head Coach where they got the FA Bidding it was like EBAY , anywhere from2-8 teams would be in on a FA
it would show the player the current bid
one by one you would see the Logo of a team vanish or"Drop Out" of the FA bid until whoever won the bid
(sometimes the team would keep bidding just because they know you will pay more and it will hurt your Cap) but that was for teams in the same division for exp. the Chiefs and Chargers would do it to my Raiders alot , they didnt really want the guy but want to hurt your Cap so they drive up the price , so you gotta be smart too with the new Cap im sure the teams will try this still
and you dont wanna be BROKE after 2 signings
from players toke alot of things into account
do they wanna win
Money
Team Prestige
their age(they want a Ring)
Coaches on staff
etc.Last edited by TLF; 05-17-2011, 11:04 AM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
I doubt they will get benched for poor performance but it would be a nice addition. As would having a aging QB get benched for a "QB of the Future" when their team has been eliminated from the playoff raceComment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
I definitely feel you on that and I hope I am right about practice mode too. LOL
Even with mass substitutions, like 1st/2nd/3rd strings, still not being added, this would allow users to create their own "strings" through Gameplanning.
Users could have a specific set of offensive and defensive plays grouped together in their Gameplan, preset with 2nd/3rd string players subbed in. So that way, during a blowout game, they could limit play calling to those specific plays, for the rest of the game and keep their starters off the field without having to go methodically through their depth chart. Not to mention, users can finally have a way to pregame set special team personnel too. And.........
Alright, that's enough, I am getting too excited so I will stop now.
Can't wait.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
Please tell me we can edit the player photos and game appearance. The photos are an outstanding addition but if we get two or more superstars with the same pics it will get unrealistic quick. Or god forbid we get a white pic with a black player, or even way off skin tones. As long as we can edit this it won't matter.
I know there will be some duplicate photos, but it isn't a big deal if it's 50th guy on your roster. The problem is when your star RB and star WR look exactly the same.
Great blog, Josh Looman is the MAN. I have never been more excited for Madden in my life.Spike DietComment

Personally, I like the idea of Ist Rd Pick, Injury Prone(Not so much the 1-yr deal part), Future Star(Applies to Cam Newton perfectly), QB of the Future (and the quote, "...and is a prototypical QB), Underacheiver, Shutdown Corner (Since it doesnt focus on INTs, but Catches allowed), Deep Threat, Defensive Enforcer (Ray Lewis
), Team Distraction( If morale is in), Return Specialist (Would make Devin Hester and Josh Cribbs FEEL like Devin Hester and Josh Cribbs), and Clutch Kicker.

Also, I have this question for anyone who knows: Was the option to re-do the NFL Draft in Madden 11? Would it be in this year? Say, if I wanted to control the Panthers and I didn't want Cam Newton, or if I was the Falcons and didn't feel the need to move up for Julio Jones? Maybe for online, it would be better because a Cleveland fan may want to draft Julio Jones instead of build for the future.
Also, I pray that all the teams have the appropriate future picks in the game. Not a dealbreaker, but Cleveland franchise players might be excited to build for the future this year, especially with Colt McCoy and Peyton Hillis on the team.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12
Senator, I am somewhat surprised that people are not being more imaginative about how DPP being added will potentially, naturally create realistic situations like you mention in this post. I guess 6 years of lack luster franchise modes has stifled people's creativity, somewhat.
Streaks temporarily affecting ratings and consistency constantly fluctuating ratings, naturally creates realistic opportunities for players to be benched or start, based on their performance. In Madden 11 franchise, the CPU teams started the players with the highest OVR. So in Madden 12 when players on a CPU team hit streaks and/or experience substantial consistency fluctuations that affect their OVR, that will create the conditions for weekly depth chart rotation of CPU teams. It could potentially even cause players to be benched during the games if player streaks can actually begin and change, in games, instead of just week to week. In that case, player streaks could affect OVR during games and cause in game depth chart rotation IF the CPU team auto updated their depth chart each quarter or at the half, instead of each week like Madden 11.
In the real NFL potential can keep players on a team but performance is what keeps them on the field. Player Roles and DPP should reproduce that with Player Traits reproducing individual player habits, whenever they are on the field.

Also, just to clarify the AP Fumble Prone role, in Madden 07, the role kicked in on 3rd-Down and the 4th quarter. It's no secret that AP has fumbled in big situations, and even fumbled away games (Brett Favre may have threw the pick against the Saints, but that Saints forced 6 fumbles that game. AP had two of them, and as far as I remember, they were bad times to fumble. ( I know for a fact Bernard Berrian fumbled RIGHT at the GL, but that's not the point). The point is, the role should define itself in the bigger moments, the more crucial moments of a game.
Also consider than every season, the team lost usually higher than 50% of his fumbles.
3 of 4 in 2007 (75%)
4 of 9 in 08 (44%)
6 of 7 in 09 (86%); 2 times in the Playoffs (Didnt lose any but both were in crucial moments.)
