I've been reading here that the game is very good and I'm attracted with the game but with Madden 12 with the improved franchise and that I can't get the patch because I can't connect online, is it worth to buy the game today?

The game is definitely worth buying, especially since you can get it so cheap at Gamestop now. If nothing else it will help you get prepared for the new Madden 12, since it appears they are finally bringing a lot of the Head Coach features into franchise mode for Madden. However, if you can't get the patch, then I'd say the game would be frustrating. There were some pretty bad bugs initially. Are you sure you can't even bring your system to a friends house to connect online just to download the patch?? -

The game is incredibly cheap. But, the patch fixed a couple of near game breaking bugs, one being the way players demanded outrageous money when resigning. There may have been some work arounds for that though, you could check around.
I wouldn't buy it myself if I couldn't patch it unless I knew for certain there was a workaround. If you could get it patched, I'd definately say buy it, but if you can't, I'd wait for Madden. Although honestly, there';s a good chance with all the changes to franchise mode, you'd have to patch that at some point too.Comment

I just bought this game 2 months ago for $4 from hastings. Have been playing it consistantly in that time. I don't connect my xbox online so I never bothered looking for the patch and while there are some bugs I don't feel any of them are game breaking to not justify spending $4 for a game.
The bug mentioned by cutter about the players asking for outrageous amounts of money annoyed me at first but now I just laugh and let the player go in FA and I will usually end up with a better player either through the draft or FA anyway so it's actually been a bit of a blessing.Comment
