guys, Coach Prestige has an effect on ratings... is it an individual category based effect..? no, but it's not just rotating names... there is a direct impact on each team based on the prestige of their coach.

Ironically, the the only way to fix is with coach ratings, so actually you do care

While I disagree with Cane I rather have this than nothing, this omission is huge. You can make an argument this kills the whole mode because essentially nothing changes.

But is it really acceptable to have a coach such as Rich Rod, who'd be an A in prestige, give a good bonus to offense AND defense? They could have just done a simple O prestige and D prestige this year before making it a full blown copy of College Hoops. It'd still be better than one rating being dominant.

Like i said, it isn't individual ratings based, but to say it has NO impact is wrong.. the coaches do impact the team.

Okay, then we have to look at it this way. Actual coaches mean nothing besides a prestige/experience rating for recruiting. We could have just had teams randomly change playbooks and basically gotten the same experience, if you really think about it.

I'm not trying to bash you at all, Ryno. Trust me on that. I'm just saying that it really seems to only be half done. I know it's not something that's easy to put in the game, but still. They way it's done is really lacking, with Coordinators not meaning anything except for a playbook and head coaches not meaning anything except maybe a playbook/coaching style and 2 recruiting pitches.

I'll reserve complete judgement until after tomorrow's blog. The details of how coaches affect the game now aren't even know yet...so why jump to conclusions?

Even as-is, I'm happy with what they've done. Like another poster said, the fact that philosophies [and hell, even the names] will change over the course of the dynasty will be a nice, fresh addition to the mode. I've done things like that in past versions, on my own!

It was irrational to expect a deep, rich version of the CC this year. They have implemented something that they can use as a base for the future.

                          Ding, ding, ding.

Plus, coordinators have prestige ratings too, so they should have an impact on simmed games (which, last time I checked, all CPU games are simmed).

That makes me the most upset that I can't control who my OC and DC will be once I become a head coach, but I can live with it...

it effects the PROGRESSION of players... that is huge IMO. A down program can hire an A+ prestige coach and see a tangible impact to a team as players progress more than with a lower tier coach.

I did not know that and it is nice to see, but I still am very disappointed in how EA has handled the CC. I know most of you disagree with me, but if we had no CC this year, but next year we got one that was at least on the same level as 2k8, then I'd be happy.

At least EA has a base to build on and it should be their biggest focus next year.
