This is a good point, but can't you change the name of conferences? If so, put your teams that you want in your Super Mountain West into the Big 12 and re-name the Big 12 "Mountain West".

Conference names stay the same because of trademarks probably. I'll give mine a try because even going back 40 years, it's not THAT different. Just more teams to a conference now. Slimming down a conference will let those independents in if it works well, but it will still seem broken. Turning off most BCS tie-ins will help a bit so maybe you can get some better teams in by at large, but you will probably still get some twisted results.

And that's another thing. I saw on the video where you can change the name of the divisions, but I wish they would go to a smaller conference so I know for sure if we can eliminate divisions. I don't want to recreate the Big 8 only to have to have 2 4-team divisions.

Yeah I'm already brainstorming ideas to help work around the issues. It's not really a deal breaker if all you want to do is add teams to an already established BCS conference, but it becomes broken if you want to recreate conferences, dissolve a BCS conference (such as the Big East), or turn a mid-major conference into a BCS conference.

I'll just scrap my ideas to do any of those things.

I've set up 1978, 91, 98, 02 (The years that caught a major conference change or something worth typing up) and I think it will be fine. Using a 91 setup and having the Poinsettia Bowl is going to be weird period. Instead of looking at it as a low-tier bowl, just look at it as a bowl game. I took the wait and see approach and got the 32 independents I needed to keep my setups. Now maybe they'll be something for the bowl games.

I completely agree, although I probably will put TCU in the Big East and make the changes that really heppened.

Yeah, of course. I'm all for making the real changes...and even necessary changes down the road in a Dynasty. Even being able to change bowl affiliations down the road.

But I don't need a blog, personally, about custom conf. to learn about anything I'm gonna use.

Seems two people confirmed from the Q&B that you CANNOT edit all bowl tie-ins, which could make the post-season broken for a lot of people if they don't have the foresight to edit their conferences in accordance to their preferred bowl season.

Unfortunately only BCS games.

Game Informer makes it sound a little bit deeper then that.

You can also edit the bowl tie-ins, so the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl could not include the Big 12 or remove tie-ins altogether and just go off of straight BCS rankings. You could even make it so independents like Notre Dame don't have a tie-in to any bowls, which sounds like a great plan

So as the HC, I don't get to hire my OC and DC? Really EA? Really?
Just keep putting lipstick on the pig. I really hope dynasty tuning addresses recruiting issues. Looks like other than zone tweaks, there was very little done to game play. So I guess the CPU will still be psychic when calling defense? It's good to see EA keeps putting lipstick (or should I say dreads) on that pig.

That's good to know a coaches prestige rating does affect player progression and a few other aspects.

I really like the inclusion of Coaching Carousel and an expanded custom conferences. Being able to change conferences throughout the dynasty will be huge b/c when a school starts dominating the Sun Belt I can move them up to the ACC, etc etc.

Coaching Carousel it's cool to have coaches retire and play styles change. It looks like a pretty good start for the mode. The real key for me is how it will effect whether or not teams have up or down seasons - or will I be in the year 2025 and Alabama's coach has won 10 National Championships. It will be cool to see how it plays out.

One thing that I really want is for some 2 or 3 star guys to end up being studs. It's one of the main reasons that I want to be able to edit player ratings in season so I can manually add these into the game. Very interested in the other tuning aspects of dynasty

Well that killed most of the hype I got from last week. Overall, reading that Q&A did nothing but kill the hype from last week. I would much rather have the majority of these than coaching carousel (or at least, the coaching carousel they put in this game).
