I believe EA Sports needed a way to get back in the game so they had to throw a low blow at 2k Sports to get the last big shot in for the knock out. If 2k Sports was still making NFL games, they would probably be the only ones making NFL games, ie. "NBA Elite"; ring a bell with anyone?
