Re: 2K Sports Will Not Release NHL 2K12
whoever didnt see this coming honestly just wasn't paying attention. Company in terms of their hockey game has been garbage at best for quite a while now and dropped the ball a few years ago with it's fanbase.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Re: 2K Sports Will Not Release NHL 2K12
The really disappointing part of all this isn't even the fact we won't have two hockey games again this year, but the fact that 2K is slowly but surely dwindling down to just having NBA 2K left in their sports lineup.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: 2K Sports Will Not Release NHL 2K12
Eh, I don't think that will be the case. While they may not keep the exclusive license for MLB I'm sure they'll resign. Plus there is rumor they have talked to the NFL about getting a license for 2013 so they can bring back their NFL series. I honestly don't think the hockey series is done for good, just for these consoles. I also don't think all the games were garbage at best lately. 2K9 was and 2K7 as well, but 2K10 and 2K8 are very playable hockey games.Comment

Re: 2K Sports Will Not Release NHL 2K12
They're undoubtedly not playing NHL 10 or NHL 11 either......
Both games have EA and 2K have flaws and are not great as a whole although both have some good elements......All I want is options.....I Want My $2 Dollars
NFL- Eagles
NHL- Flyers
NCAA- Fresno StateComment

Re: 2K Sports Will Not Release NHL 2K12
It's a shame that they never ported the game to the PC like they have done with the NBA and MLB titles. With the modding community as passionate as they are, the game could have been something on the PC."And by the way, you know, when you're telling these little stories? Here's a good idea - have a POINT. It makes it SO much more interesting for the listener!"Comment

Re: 2K Sports Will Not Release NHL 2K12
It's a shame they ever released 2K9. Think about what kind of hockey game they could have made if they had axed 2K9 and maybe even 2K10 to develop a complete game to compete with NHL 11. 2K9 really killed it for 2K Hockey, much more so than 2K8's control scheme or 2K7's Cinemotion/Players Breath.Comment

They weren't. Other than the Wii port, it's been dead for 18 months or so.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. I'd be surprised if they stopped making baseball games altogether, but the pseudo-exclusivity deal will not be renewed. It's been an unmitigated disaster for 2K.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: 2K Sports Will Not Release NHL 2K12
Sad news. I can still remember the good ol' days of 2k3, the Thunderpuck forums, 2khockey.net, the change to ESPN NHL Hockey, back to ESPN NHL 2k5, then 2k6. After that, it seemed to go completely down hill. Damn you Cinemotion, damn you!
2k3 will always be my favorite NHL game.
2k10 showed potential, but there were moments where it just made you want to throw the controller through the TV. And not, "WTF the CPU is cheating!!" moments, but moments of "What. The. Hell... is this a finished product?"NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
