I wouldn't go out declaring it doesn't look good unless we try it. There are some things that worked as advertised as well, including run blocking last year.

I'll agree with your last two words, we'll see.

On the menu screen I see an option for manual. Does this mean this year we will have an accurate in game manual that might explain what actually does what. (Exampl DE moves) besides this all this other info is great to hear.

Was Vick as bad as 81 at times last year? Yes. 25 for 43 for 263 yds, 1td, 1int 58% passing vs. MIN.
If i recall correctly, one of the madden devs said the OVR wouldn't change or be re-calculated. I thought they said only individual ratings would change. I could be wrong though.

Edit: Yeah, forget what I said, almost every article refers to OVR changing. I could of swore that I read one that said it was individual ratings. Oh well.

Great catch Jmurphy, I have been wanting an actual manual for years. Hopefully it's in depth and goes into not only the new features but a complete breakdown of how ratings work too.

Check the game logs. Even when there was a perception towards the back-end of the season that he had started to come back to earth, he was still remarkably good. I can't say he had a single bad game last year:

284 yards 2 TD vs. Detroit
291 yards 3 TD 1 rushing TD vs. Jacksonville
218 yards 1 TD 1 rushing TD plus 74 yards rushing vs. Indianapolis
333 yards 4 TD 2 rushing TD plus 80 yards rushing vs. Washington
258 yards 1 rushing TD vs. New York Giants
333 yards 2 TD 1 INT vs. Chicago
302 yards 2 TD 1 rushing TD 1 INT vs. Houston
270 yards 2 TD 1 rushing TD 2 INT vs. Dallas
242 yards 3 TD 1 rushing TD 1 INT plus 130 yards rushing vs. New York Giants
263 yards 1 TD 1 rushing TD 1 INT vs. Minnesota
292 yards 1 TD 1 rushing TD 1 INT vs. Green Bay in playoffs

Did Vick even have a single bad game? No. He was good to stellar every time he took the field.

What? 258 yards a rushing TD against the Giants was bad? That was his least productive day all last season!

In Madden terms, Vick never dipped below, I'd say, an 85 all year.
What was his completion percentage in these game? I know in the Vikings game he should had atleast three more picks (The Vikings dropped) plus he a game changing fumble..

Completion % followed by QB rating:

                DET: 61.8% 108.0
                JAX: 54.8% 119.2
                IND: 58.6% 93.7
                WAS: 71.4% 150.7
                NYG: 63.2% 83.0
                CHI: 65.9% 94.2
                HOU: 66.7% 103.3
                DAL: 61.5% 90.2
                NYG: 60.0% 97.6
                MIN: 58.1% 74.1

However, he had 9 rushing TD's which aren't a factor in his QB rating so he should get some more credit for those.

Still, only 1 game with a QB rating in the 80's and only 1 game with it in the 70's.

                That's still very good

That lowest QB rating from the Minnesota game of 74.1 is between Hasselbeck's average for last year (73.2) and Mark Sanchez last year (75.3)

So, at his worst last year, Vick was Sanchez's or Hasselbeck's average.

But let's get off this threadjack lol

Mike Vick's ratings will probably be fine.

Don't get your hopes up to much, EA is moving away from manuals like Ubisoft, so I don't expect something any more in-depth than what we've been getting. I believe its just going to be like the old paper manual being in the game.

Instead of a paper manual, can't EA make a section on there site with all the stuff you need to know for the game?

Umm no, if they did that, nobody would buy the $20 strategy guide.

Imagine taking a run at (in this case Eli) at the beginning of a game, taking the 15 yard Roughing the Passer penalty, but completely rattling him for the remainder of the game... imagine the possibilites ... Awesome.

There was a much, much more stripped down version of this in Madden 10 PSP. It was more a hot/cold streak within a game, but it's cool to see they've fleshed it out and brought it to the big screen.

Ratings swing is getting the most run, and it is a great addition, but traits and tendencies are much more important to me. If they're implemented well then the game really, really finally becomes a dynamic experience(especially vs. the CPU)

I'm more excited for this Madden then any Madden ever, and it isn't even close.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

For the first time in a long time, I cant wait for Madden, yes we still gotta play the game but it look slike the team really decided to shut the critics (including me) up. We still havent got all the franchise info yet. Could be another huge 1 year development process similar to what 2K did with NBA 2K10 to NBA 2K11. Cant wait for Madden or NCAAF
