Honestly this is the only thing I had a prob with and the over the top spin move just b/c those thing are completely unrealistic. Meanwhile I'll let everyone else complain while I'll be enjoying what appears to be a good solid game.

somebody beat me to the spin move comment.

There's no place for a move like that in any game that touts "momentum". Nobody on earth can spin that fast, and continue to run like they never even spun.

No slow down, no foot planting, no sense of having to regain acceleration. That just irks me....

The game looks great, but it's the LITTLE THINGS EA. The little things are what we care about.

Why does the stadium music continue to play for so long? Shouldn't it fade out sooner? Seems distracting.

The spin move definitely has been very powerful in all the football games I can remember

            Right out of the gate:

"Number 23 is back to receive the kick"....

Uhh, that's Cribbs and he wears number 16!

Wait, I know------"This was an early build".

Better be a VERY EARLY pre-E3 alpha build with the way that looked and sounded... wow that was bad.

What I mean is, they added these "stats overlays" when the qb is running on field prior to a drive, and another "stat overlay" after you score a TD.

They added awesome camera stuff before the game starts, between quarters, etc. but we are still watching random dudes run around randomly at the end of the play. From the time a drive starts until it ends, we get no TV style presentation or camera work from what I have seen. Its all smoke and mirrors. The overlays pop up and disappear before you can read them which has been a historical problem, I mean to have TV style presentation, you need constant overlays, proper post play/pre play camera cuts, and commentary that is proactive instead of reactive.

I was all pumped for some presentation, but its still not up to par, its not good enough.
Great points. I'm glad I'm not alone in this. The cameras and presentation cohesion still feels so dead.

And this is exactly what I feared would happen unfortunately. They spent so much time programming the 700 cameras, they didn't have enough time to actually integrate them into an engaging heart-thumping presentation package. In other words, EA did a great job at the academic front (they replicated every dang camera), but spent relatively little time in the emotional front which is equally as important - if not more so (the "other company" had 30 cameras at best but was still hailed as revolutionary in presentation).

In the end, you have a game that looks authentic in sporadic bursts (they show technically correct camera angles), but you still have a game that doesn't capture the essence of an interactive TV broadcast (due to the improper use of stat overlays, non-effective camera transitions, and too much looking at static guys doing nothing in between plays).

Everything is just so dang "skippable" because of this. I'm going to say this though. Madden 12 is definitely in an improvement in presentation, but I was really rooting for EA to make bigger strides - especially since they removed the extra point.

What you wrote is exactly what I was thinking. So much talk about TV presentation but it doesn't look like a televised game at all. Instead of showing some dude running back to the huddle, it should immediately go to a replay. Imagine if you watched a game on TV and they didn't show one replay during a drive. You'd be furious.

I feared the only TV elements would be before the game with the new openings but then nothing after that. That seems to be case.

Edit: Okay, in some of the other videos I see they do cut to replays after the plays which is much better.

Two things jumped out at me.

1.I can't believe they left the part in where the ref went to make the call, and the game glitched into the stands, totally obscuring the ref.

This is just me but the first thing I saw was how huge the stripes on the Browns pants were. They have a thin stripe on the pants, it's way to big in the game.

The commentary wasn't good at all. At 2:30 when McCoy pitches the ball to Hillis he says "McCoy takes the pitch", what the heck. Even if there is a Brown on the cover this year, if it stays this way I might have to pass.

Where is the player comparisons that occur in the real NFL broadcast? Where is the real stats overlays that occur in a NFL GAME? THE qb running out on the field with a stat overly is ok, but what about the rest of the players stats and comparisons? Phil running around E3 saying they true too authentic broadcast, " NO THEY NOT". Look at MLB2k11 and NBA2k11 broadcast style and stats overlays. They compare players, last year stats, current season stats, overall team percentage...etc. This is what true broadcast is all about and since they took out the extra point and no halftime show, this is inexcusable at this point in nex-gen gaming. When will we get a NFL game that surpass NFL2K5 presentation style???????

                                - Starting lineup only shows 5 players, Gus and Chris fail to mention even highlighted player
                                - Spin move is way too unrealistic and effective
                                - Peyton Hillis is brought down to easily, and on one play Hampton fell to the ground so easily, like the bowling pin effect still
                                - Boast about all new cameras, yet on the review of the catch in the end zone we only saw the wall

This better be an early build and the commentary only 10% added in. If not, then what they did to the presentation won't matter.
I honestly think both players were button skipping the starting lineups, reviews, exc. You could tell on the starting line-ups because it was only there for a few seconds
