Just because ND has a nationwide legion of fans who probably couldn't even find South Bend on a map doesn't mean they're a 6 star prestige school. Lol at 2 bowl wins in the last 15 years.

I actually don't hate ND. I'm 21 so I really wasn't watching football in ND's hayday. They just haven't been good for a while now, it really isn't about hating them.

I believe the reason they went down this season is because last season they were holding out that ND would have the breakout year because they always seem so close to doing it. EA is kinda giving up on that break out year and is admitting that ND isn't a top dog school anymore. To be 6* you need to be in the NC talk at least every couple of years.

Yeah i didnt get the vibe you did hate them i was just saying in general. I would agree with that second statement as well, but as i have stated before, why did they finally decide to knock them down to a 5* when theyre actually getting better. Dont see the logic

I have no hate for N-Dame, but I feel a prestige drop is deserved.


If Boise State made it to only 2 bowls over the next 5 years, they would not stay a 5 star. Notre Dame wins 2 over 15 years, and some people act shocked that they drop a star. It's just one prestige star.

Let's be real here you guys have one of the most obnoxious, pretentious fan bases in the country. Magnified by the fact that most of you have never even been in Indiana, much less South Bend. What has ND done that makes them a 6 star school? Maybe it's time to hop in the time machine and play NCAA 1947 Played with pen and paper but at least ND deserves it's prestige rating in that one.

Bias aside, ND should not be a 6 star school. If they had 6 stars last year that was a mistake. Good to see it corrected. If/when they do something they'll get their star back.

I'm not too bummed about UW staying a 3* school, have to repeat the success of last year to move up.

But I do have a few questions for EA when it comes to rating teams.

How will the prestige rating effect a teams ability to recruit?
Oregon is a 6*
Boise St. is a 5*
UW is a 3*

Scout Recruiting Ratings since 2008:
UO: #14, #13, #26, #23
BSU: #68, #97, #60, #64
UW: #21, #11, #66 (coaching change), #14

Outside of 2009 when UW fired Tyrone and hired Sark the recruiting between UW and UO has been fairly even with both schools signing a number of 5* and 4* recruits.

Boise St. on the other hand has been a typical WAC team from a recruiting standpoint often times being ranked lower than Fresno St. They have signed a couple of 4* recruits and zero 5* recruits.

So what I would like to know, is the rating strictly based on record? or is there more to it, because BSU isn't going to start bringing in Top 25 classes any time soon.

I hope with the new Coaching impacts there will be a player development rating (something Coach Pete should excel) and a separate recruiting rating for the coaches so a guy like Sark will be able to continue the recruiting success despite the fact the team took a major prestige hit since the reign of Tyrone.

lol i dont know how we would be considered obnoxious? For one I have been to South bend multiple times. and who cares if you havnt, fans can like whoever they want. u can still be a fan if you havnt been. Hell traveling to ND form California would be so damn expensive, I dont blame them. Theres multiple reasons why ND should be a 6* school and i can give a very valid argument why, but theres also a reason why they shouldn't. I'm not even bragging about passed wins so cool little comment there chump.

Although I think the QB's are a ? I think the running game is an upgrade, the WR's are great and a good OL. I do think B+ would be more appropriate but they are not going to be bad this year, and for all the talk Wisconsin is getting as a time to shine with the OSU situation, I think people need to pay attention to PSU. They are going to have one of the best Defenses in the nation and as long as the QB progresses (whichever one) they should be good.

I definitely agree that we're not going to be bad this year. I expect it to be Penn State, Michigan and Nebraska fighting it out for the Big 10 with Ohio State being a surprise team with all the controversy hanging around.

I just think an A is too generous considering IMO that quarterbacks are the second most important position on offense.

The ND fans in here are serious? Yall are mad that Notre Dame fell from 6 to 5 star prestige? How long can you guys ride the momentum from the movie Rudy? Jokes aside, ND isnt a 6 star school and hasent been for years point blank. You can keep your fans, your tradition, you graduation rates, and your school history, but the rest of the country sees your mediocrity from the past few decades. The last time ND had an Elite season was in 1993.
