Any indication that Psychic play calling is gone?

For anyone that doesnt know or didnt notice. Psychic playcalling was basically when the computer would clearly indicate that they knew when you were running a pass or run play ALL THE TIME.

This was most evident when running the spread option and would constantly have the opposing team put out a 4-3 defensive formation even though you have 4 wide just because they somehow knew that you were running the ball.

It would be so bad that you might call 10 run or pass plays in a row and run constantly into 43 or nickel defenses until you finally call a run or pass play and they would immediately switch to the appropriate defense to defend.

Now of course you could easily audible every time and catch a slotback on a linebacker. But that obviously becomes monotonous and boring after a while. It was the only real reason why i put down Dynasty mode last year.

So does anyone have any news about this "features" disapearance?

That is good question and something that bothers me as well. The problem with that happening is exactly what you pointed out, it puts you in a situation where you can stick with your called play and likely get stuffed or call an audible to easily abuse the CPU. I did notice this issue was somewhat lessened by playing on Varsity using Playmakers sliders, but the CPU should call plays based on your personal on the field most of the time, regardless of difficultly level. I hate the idea of having the CPU be psychic, just to artificially increase the difficulty.

I HATED this. This was by far the worst thing in NCAA. I play on Heisman with no sliders because I don't like to mess with anything but it was very annoying, I had sets off audibles that would, like whoever said, abuse the CPU because they lined up a certain way, COMPLETELY based off your original playcall. This is a HUGE mistake on EA's part and will hopefully be fixed or I'm in for another audible every single play dynasty. I really hope this is fixed. Maybe if we can make enough noise about it, they can tune it before the game comes out. PLEASE EA. and by the way great thread.

I doubt it's gone. It's just how they represent difficulty in the game, either making players psychic or giving them super-human abilities.

The issue is games are best balanced at the default difficulty level. Very few games are designed with the hardest difficulty at mind.

Issue is unless you find perfect sliders, the game is very beatable at the easier difficulties. Really there is only so much EA can do to simulate difficulty. Countering your offense is one of them.

Yes the point isnt whether or not the team can stop you. It is the sim experience of running the proper offense and when the cpu cheats you only end up cheating back which becomes incredibly boring to many players. I know there are some players, especially those who only play online that only call 5 different plays anyway regardless of the situation, but there are those of us who actually like football and care more about fun and a challenge of competition than winning.

If you watch the videos it looks to me at least like they have toned it down a bit, not saying it is completely gone, but I saw guys come out in spread and the CPU d came out in nickel or dime even though it was a run play

It was very annoying. It almost made playing a RTG RB unplayable.

The CPU knowing your plays before hand doesn't make it more difficult, it just leads to using the same plays over and over. I've seen people do it a million times.

What are your personnell packages like? I haven't played the game in a while, but I know when I saw the qb would have a 5 wr sets, I would go to a nickel or dime defense. Does that have anything to do with the computers defense play calling?
