    Multi player base stealing

I have been searching this out on here and googleing it and never have seen an answer but just a bunch of guesses. Can some one tell me if I have a player on 1st and 3rd and want to make the player on 1st steal only.....how? Ive read lots of things and none of them have worked. One site the guy said just push L3. Figured worth a try and EVERYONE took off and I hit into a double play lol

This shouldnt be that hard of info to find so its kinda of strange so many people are asking and lost as to how to do it.

    HELP! thanks guys!

I've been doing this... While holding L3 stick down toward the base (right for 1B in your case), press L2.

the corresponding button would be triangle which is bunt. doesnt make much sense to have to have your player square around. it would be a dead giveaway that you are running if you are playing another human.

I think I tried that once and it didnt work, both runners went. I will have to test it out again when I get home.

          The corresponding button is circle.

I would love to know the answer, too, as I have no idea how to do this. I have tried the methods listed above but they did not work.

              I use classic baserunning BTW.

Too funny, I'm 100+games in this season over 100 last season and I still don't know. I just gave up. I will work on this today. I need to figure it out. I know how to early steal but that NEVER works against the cpu.

For default base running it is 100% Left stick toward the baserunner + L2. You can even safely test this by using L1 to make him take a lead without having to try and steal.

I can't tell you about classic baserunning controls as I only have used default.

It's always Left Stick + L2. Classic Baserunning uses the same interface for the base-stealing area of baserunning, the only differences in controls come after the ball is in play.

If the runner is currently on first, press L2 while holding right on the left analog stick. Up for 2nd, Left for 3rd.

                          Re: Multi player base stealing

For default baserunning, Left analog point towards first base (aka pointed right) and then press L2. Do not press L2 first because all baserunners will steal then.

If you want practice, play an exhibition with two controllers. Intentionally walk the first two batters and see if you can get the guy on 2nd to steal 3rd without the guy on 1st going. In that scenario, you would point the left stick up at 2nd base and then press L2.

                            Re: Multi player base stealing

                            In a semi related note:

Is it possible to individually control baserunners after taking off for a steal? I would naturally assume yes, as you can when the ball is in play using the left stick but I was unable to do it in about 8-10 attempts.

I'm not sure if its just me being bad on the controls or its a time issue and the game needs a bit before allowing you to take over each runner individually.

To clarify this would be the situation: Runners on 1st & 3rd, 2 outs. I want to steal with the runner on 1st, but make the runner return to first after drawing a throw. Then I would want the guy on 3rd to go home. I was unable to return the guy on 1st without also making the guy on 3rd retreat to 3rd off his lead. Then when trying to individually send him home the other guy start back to 2nd.

Again, I'm not sure if its just me needing more practice at it, but I can steal individually fine as well as control baserunners on balls put in play just fine.

Has anybody been able to successfully pull this off? I've seen it done before in actual MLB play. As a matter of fact the Yankees did it this year against my Sox.
