Pretty rare illness and hopefully he fully recovers.
A friend of mine had GBS a several years ago and it was very scary.
Well wishes Danny!"Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

If I remember correctly, some doctors came together and said that this disease was the same that affected President Roosevelt (and not polio as earlier thought). Hopefully he can kick this disease.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Sad story - Gator great Danny Wuerffel hospitalized with serious illness
I had this when I was a kid, I was totally paralyzed for weeks and couldn't even breathe on my own for 6 weeks or so. It was a year before I could walk again. Even 20 years later I still have a few lasting affects but nothing serious, mainly just in my feet which didn't return fully like everything else did, but it hasn't stopped me from doing much in life.
Hopefully Danny makes a full recovery!

Sad story indeed, but on a cheerful note, Danny Wuerffel was a nightmare for my Noles to play against...
Oh No!... Not the fade route! Anyone remember the accuracy he had when throwing that one specific route?
For all of you young "bucks" Danny was absolutely amazing to watch. Honestly, one of the best college QBs I have ever seen.

Re: Sad story - Gator great Danny Wuerffel hospitalized with serious illness
Danny was a great competitor and a great rival to have. He's the only Gator quarterback outside of TT that would take the field and I'd be scared my Noles couldn't handle him. And that's when we had elite teams. Truly the best. Respect and credit definitely overcome my "hate" for the Gate. If he has the same heart and fire inside him that he displayed every Saturday, he'll find a way to beat this. Best wishes to him. I hope he's able to recover from this.I bleed Garnet and Gold. Re: Sad story - Gator great Danny Wuerffel hospitalized with serious illness
I pray for him to get better. I will always remember him, one for the dominant Gator offenses he lead that stopped Bama from winning atleast two more SEC titles. And two, for him being the first cover boy of the first NCAA Football '98. I was a Junior in high school and remember when the game well. My best friend and I would go to Summer workouts for football and then go back to his house and play it all day on the PSone while were were awaiting for the '99 version with Woodson on the cover to come out.
