The way the spin works in Madden though, it covers an unrealistic amount of distance and there is little slow down or trouble getting back to full speed.
Running across the field with a defender closing on an angle and the spinning in the complete opposite direction and creating a huge amount of space between you and said defender is extremely easy.
When players spin, it is usually very close to contact and they do it to avoid the defender being able to get a good hold on them for a tackle. It is the extremely rare individual that can use the spin to totally create a great deal of space between themselves and the defender, like a Barry Sanders.
The problem with the spin is everyone is even better at it than Barry .
