Career Backup in RTG..

I'm considering creating a player and being a career backup QB.. That way when I go to the NFL (Madden) I can "come out of nowhere" like Tom Brady or Matt Cassell. I'm going to play for the Patriots too.. JK!!

ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS?

whatever floats your boat i guess. I just dont see how this could be much fun. id be simming a lot of games(rarely if ever do I sim a game). Wouldnt it be easier just to create a player in Madden with a low OVR but good QB ratings for the most part?

I could, but I'd like to have a history with the guy I'm playing as. Maybe the starter gets hurt in a BIG game and I come in to save the day, or something like that. IDK. I'd just like to be a late round pick and turn into a HoF'er

So my guess is that you're going to go to a school that has a Freshman starter that is a stud? Because it would be really difficult to become the perenement backup at a school if the true starter is not already a Freshman. Unless the team recruits somebody else, but, most likely they wouldn't if you're on the roster. Just the way the AI is probably going to work.

Couldn't he just level up but always intentionally lose the Position Battles? Not sure if that's exactly how the system works, but it seems possible given the way the devs have explained it.

no you dont start off as the starter.

As for the OP this sounds all cool and dandy, if it was being followed by espn or something. But unless its to stasify something in your own head, it doesnt make much sense. and since there will be nothing in how the games talks about how amazing that would be i dotn see the point.

+1 to the OP for this idea. Way to really get into a role playing aspect of RTG. This actually sounds pretty cool. If only it were actually difficult to make it in RTG mode (assuming the new one will be easy like last year).

I might actually try this myself now, if I get either game that is. Good luck though.

Huge +1 to you sir. This is totally feasible.

Here is how:

1. In High School, play extremely bad. Like horrible. You won't get many recruiting points, and you will not get a scholarship from a big school. You will wind up being a 1-2 star, which means your rating going into college will be lower (1-5 stars having different ratings going into college, for each position too).

2. Go to a school that has a freshman coming in that is higher than your overall.

3. Proceed to gain as many experience points as you can and buy as many items in the upgrade store, which will increase your overall.

4. Once you get to a position battle, purposely suck, lose the position battle, and proceed to be the back-up QB wonder once you transfer your player over to Madden with a 99 overall from NCAA.

5. You win.

Unless they changed SS star last year, don't you always get drafted in the 2nd-3rd round with like a 76-80 OVR?

When did Brady not start in college? He was the starter his last 2 years I believe. Now if you meant Matt Cassel, now you'd have a point. He hardly played a lick at USC.

When I import I have to know what Teams to be drafted by.
RB- IND, Den, CIN, WASH. The only school I would want to go to is Indy. because other teams other then those have a good starting RB
QB-Mia, Ariz, SF, Wash. I would like to go to SF or Ari because they have weapons
WR- STL, CHI, CAR. I would like to start a career with a young qb. Sam Bradford or be the reliable to Cam Newton.
