Games where the shot doesn't want to fall

Anyone have games where your best player just can't seem to hit a shot? I just played the Kings in my Association and managed to somehow win, by only 1 point. It was exciting but a tad frustrating - my best player would get wide open shots, I'd have a perfect release meter, and the shot would be a complete brick. Is this something the game does to simulate the off-game everyone has once in a while or what?

i have had a few games like that. I use the Heat, and Wade neither Labron could hit anything. No 3's, 15 footers, contested layups, nothing. I'll beat the Mavs by 15 then lose to a team like Wizards by 18. I can't figure it out either. I guess players have good games and bad throughout the season.

This is a fact. My offense is shooting threes all game long and there are some games where guys just can't hit anything. However, I have found that the way you beat this is to have a roster loaded with guys who can knock down shots. 10 out of 12 people on my roster shoot the three with an 82 rating or higher. When someone is cold, snatch them out and give someone else a shot.

The chances of ten players being cold is highly unlikely
The way to build a good team is not to load it with star players, but to load it with players who play well together with an identity

It's the tendencies. If you play more to a players tendencies, you will hit those shots. I recently tried some sliders that had all the global tendencies at zero.
I kept my shooting sliders the same and could not hit the net on any wide open jumpers. I turned the global tendency sliders back up and could hit shots again.

Some games are worse than others but you should go into practice mode and run around the court with your main scorers, noting where their hot spots are by the amount of bars under neath them. Play to those spots and you should hit shots more often.

        Sometimes it just happens, though.

I have experienced this as well.

In real life, a guy like Ray Allen sets a Finals record with 9 threes in game 2 at LA, which Boston barely won I think. Then he goes ice cold for the remainder of the series almost.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think it's realistic.

yeah these games happen... the key is realizing when it's not your night and not allowing yourself to get in a hole trying to shoot out of it. IRL a shooter is told to keep shooting... but in this game once you get cold you're pretty much ineffective till a free throw or a time out/substitution.

I've had games where Melo would pretty much make every shot if I could get him to his spot in rhythm. I've also had games where the guy only had like 3 or 4 points by the end of the third quarter.

I think when you've played enough games with a team you know where guys like to get the ball and make with a high %. If it ain't falling after 2 or 3 shots, then you know it's time to go to another option or see if you can earn points the hard way at the line. I have lost plenty of games because it took me to long to realize it was going to be an off night.
