 Re: SouthEastern Conference Predictions

You called Les an idiot earlier in this thread. Do you really not remember?

So is 34-24-1 at Michigan State somehow better than 28-21 at Oklahoma State?Mediocre overall record, yes. His final season, 9-2, was great, but the first four were very mediocre. However, he's won national titles at 2 schools where the previous coaches were abysmal and he had to re-build programs.

You're being really pretentious. Like you wouldn't claim it if it were at Alabama, or try to downgrade those players or that title. You don't have a problem claiming 1945 in your sig, or any of Bama's other dubious titles. Wasn't it the Bear who said he would claim the Tuscaloosa Laundromat Association as an NC if they voted Alabama #1?Not really. But I guess when you've never experienced 13-0 or 14-0, you have to have that mindset.

Sure what he did at Florida was great, but you said re: Les' record at Oklahoma State that mediocre was mediocre and it didn't matter where it was. But you're not being consistent with that re: other coaches as I've shown in this thread. That shows that you're just anti-Les and anti-LSU because of a personal grudge. You can deny it all you want but your inconsistencies give you away.On Spurrier, his record with Florida in the 90s says enough. Throw in that he's got SOUTH CAROLINA as a pre-season pick to win their division a 2nd year in a row? S*** dude. They have 1 10-win season and before last season, had 1 championship of any sort(ACC 1969).

On another note, and this is a serious question, how can Spurrier and South Carolina now be upper tier in the SEC when Les and LSU had a better record than they did last year against a tougher division?

That's great. If you were around 40-50 years ago when all that happened then awesome for you. I wasn't, so it really has no bearing on me. I'm 24 years old, and for as long as I've been old enough to be paying close attention, LSU has usually beaten Alabama, so that's my experience and all I really worry about. I'm not losing any sleep over what happened in the 1973 game that took place before my parents had even hit puberty.
We're 45-24 against LSU. That's ownage. Use your arbitrary time frames all you wish, but Alabama owns LSU. Hell, since you want to use time frames, you're 4-16 in the last 20 at Tiger Stadium against us.

It would have been an absolute travesty if a 12-1 Alabama team had been surpassed by a 12-0 TCU team. I SERIOUSLY doubt that would have happened, especially with many of the pundits saying a one loss Alabama team would still be a lock for the BCSCG after the South Carolina game. You know this is true, and you're just playing coy because it makes you uncomfortable to admit that LSU knocked you out of title contention, just like we did in 2005 and I'm sure we'll do again sometime soon.Doubtful.Last edited by Draconian Sanctions; 06-23-2011, 08:02 AM.Comment

 Re: SouthEastern Conference Predictions

Calling a coach an idiot is not the same as calling another OS member a jackass. Just keep that in mind for the future, if you last long.

You mind giving us a little more information into your seemingly personal relationship? I will say this about Les, I would really enjoy reading a Biography about him. Everything I have ever heard, seen or read tells me he's just not the best football mind. Not saying he's Steve Adazzio, but he's no Nick Saban.Golf: Bubba

 NBA: Heat
 NCAA: Florida & Miss State
NFL: Whichever team currently has the most of my favorite college players

#1 I didn't call him a jackass, I asked him if he was just being one because that statement was obviously a flame on his part.Calling a coach an idiot is not the same as calling another OS member a jackass. Just keep that in mind for the future, if you last long.

#2 I worked in the athletic department part time in high school and college. I met Saban and Les a ton of times.

I would never take anything away from Saban as a coach, he's outstanding. But he's not perfect either and as we've seen, Les can stand toe to toe with him. They are both very very very different coaches and people. I'm not sure you can really compare them, although obviously Saban is more accomplished. I like Les on a personal level a LOT more, as Saban isn't exactly a people person. Personally, after having either Saban or Les coach my team for the last 12 years, I would not trade Les to have Saban back. Go ahead and bash me for that all you want but I'm in a unique position to make that statement.Comment

I'm not trolling. I think it's silly for Auburn fans to act like that after everything that came out. How is expressing an opinion trolling? Help me out here, I'm serious.Comment

 Re: SouthEastern Conference Predictions

Saban is a much better coach than Miles, I cannot believe the LSU fan is debating that Miles can stand toe to toe with Saban. Miles should think Saban for his national title with Saban's Junior and Senior players.Comment

 Re: SouthEastern Conference Predictions

It's actually quite easy to compare the two, you seem to be the only one having trouble. Nick Saban 2 NC, Les Miles 1 NC...seems pretty clear cut to me.

So basically what you are telling is us you're letting your personal feelings about him sway your bias of the actual facts. Got it. Thanks for clearing that up.I like Les on a personal level a LOT more, as Saban isn't exactly a people person. Re: SouthEastern Conference Predictions

Did you not watch last years game or something?

And the 07 team had half Saban half Miles recruits in major roles. And the Saban recruits who were there had spend like 4 months with Saban and 3 and a half years with Miles, so don't give me that.Comment

Like I said, bash away. And what I was saying was they are very different as coaches. Different strenghts, different weaknesses. It's actually quite easy to compare the two, you seem to be the only one having trouble. Nick Saban 2 NC, Les Miles 1 NC...seems pretty clear cut to me.

I've had one or the other coaching my team the last 12 years, you've never had either. This would be like me bashing you for saying who you would rather have coaching Florida: Urban or Spurrier.Last edited by Draconian Sanctions; 06-23-2011, 11:07 AM.Comment
