    Good news and bad news.

Good news is, as I think someone else has posted is that the Stanley Cup Final patches appear to be in...

Bad news is it looks like they put them at about 65% opacity in photoshop. I've been waiting forever for these to be in the game and now they look like they are transparent. What the heck? They need to be much, much darker.

I thought the same thing. They don't quite resemble patches as much as the logo simply placed on them. Perhaps it was a rushed add-on so they could include it in the vid.

Regardless, the positioning is off a bit too. On the Bs jersey, it overlaps onto the yellow and black shoulder area. IRL they were lower, completely surrounded in white.

Oh please, I'm more ticked off that the Stanley Cup presentation is the EXACT SAME DAMN THING! So much for presentation.

you know what they need a playable holding the cup with your character
after you win it you get to press a button kiss the stanley cup or skate around ice with the stanley cup and pass it around to other players and raise the roof
of the crowd displaying the cup to the crowd or holding the cup with two arms going up and down with stanley cup with hats

I usually just want to get the cinematics over with so I can get into the off season. Doesn't really bother me that they don't spend more time and waste more data on programming manual cup celebrations!

I'm starting to wonder if in the end, the main bulk of NHL'12's presentation upgrades were sunk into the Winter Classic and the Stat tracker. And beyond that...maybe not a whole lot else is really that different?

Kind of a negative thought. But I am kinda starting to wonder.

I think a manual Cup celebration that gives the user complete control over hoisting, skating with, and passing the Cup would add such a dimension to Be a GM and playoff modes. Currently, there is no real reward to winning the Cup. But this would make it so much more rewarding. I'd be more motivated to build a cup-winning team, and the games would have more meaning.

NHL 2k9 or 2k10 or both, had the manual celebrations with the cup. It was actually pretty cool, press A to pass it along, or X to kiss it, Y to raise it etc.

They also even had playoff beards which added to the effect to.

the patches are kind of underwhelming, as well as the carbon-copy celebration, but oh well.

I think it'd be amazing if they could implement playoff beards and some sort of manual cup skate. If you're like me and play an 82 game season and the playoffs without simulation, I'd like to take my time and appreciate hoisting that damn cup lol. Not just watching some cut scene. I'd also like access to the team photo/statistics/roster at any time during subsequent seasons.

Yep, I feel the same way, UOK.

Like you, I also play the entire 82 game season. And heck ya...I'd love it if I ever made it to winning the Cup, if the celebration ended when I chose to end it.

Also, really like the idea of being able to access the team photo/stats/roster at any time. Imo...the Cup celebration as of now, is pretty decent. But more...is nearly always better.

                      that's not Bettman.....

i like the suggestion that there's should be some role for us to do during the awarding of the cup just like what the 2 posters here mentioned, one button for kissing it, other for passing etc.

i like the goal celebration EA incorporate in this year's NHL 11..... i think thats the only difference from NHL 10 besides some dekes. other than that its like a copy-cat for me of last year's version.
