    3-3-5 or 4-2-5?

For my dynasty I am going to start as Duke and use one of these two defenses throughout my career. I dont know much about either defense. So which is better and what kind of pieces will I need to recruit to use it succesfully? Any links to pages explaining this will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sold on the 4-2-5 yet.

Does it stop the run good? Because I know the 4-2-5 dominates the spread but gets killed against pro style offenses

I ran 335 for a lot of NCAA 11 til I switched to the 3-4. You'll need to recruit SS well since I think the defense puts the first two on the depth chart on the field

I would say the 3-3-5 because for some reason the line doesn't recognize their LBs and it stops the run very well. Or maybe that's just against me.

4 Lineman is the way to go. Blitzing with your D-Line is a lot easier then blitzing with a Linebacker.

If you use it correctly. It's all about disguising and shifting(Not switching to each player and manually shifting but using the in game shifting calls etc..) to confuse the O.
Usually in the top of run D in the leagues I'm in.
Anyways I've had success with it.

I prefer the 3-3-5 in real life, but really it just depends on your roster.

Yep. Got to have the right players to fit your scheme.

So to succesfully run a 4-2-5 you need the right players and judging by the Boise State vs TCU video, to call the right plays/audibles. Skyboxer what scheme do you use?

Agree with this 100%. If you learn the scheme of the 4-2-5 recruit to fit a combination of your style and the 4-2-5 scheme it doesn't matter the style of offense you are facing. I am in multiple leagues I am usually in the top 10 of run D. Good luck. It's a great D if you learn it.
