Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Impressions (360) PS3 Demo Available Later This Afternoon
To me this makes the game more exciting. Yea i know it my not be super realistic or anything but think of how good you feel when you run a kick or punt back against your buddy or the cpu. It makes you want to get up an do a celbration dance. Also think of how mad you get when you get a kick or punt ran back against you lol.
SN: Demo is up on PSN. Just search NCAA. Its already at 19% in like 3 min

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Impressions (360) PS3 Demo Available Later This Afternoon
I use auto sprint and auto strafe.
I find, for me, auto spring frees me up to do moves to break more tackles I wouldnt have if I was sprinting manually.
strafe is big for me, a lot of people dont realize you override the auto strafe by just holding down R2 to sprint out of it. Having it on be default lets you slide around into position right off the snap a lot easier, then manually decide when to break into a sprint to cover or make a tackle.
A lot of people on here seem to prefer to turn both these off, its up to you, i dont play any other way and have been pretty successful"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Awwww.... Dude.... But your sliders were so good! I'm gonna be lost without them. Seriously.i agree most people who dis Varsity level are usually people who never even loaded up a game with sliders on varsity level...they just go off of absumption that the game can only be effective on the highest level
It's one of the reasons why i don't plan on posting any sliders in Madden or NCAA 12 because you always get a bunch macho clowns coming into the slider thread talking down on you as if a lower level makes you any less of a true SIM fan.Comment

To me so far, this demo is unreal. I love the upgrade graphically with the lighting and grass is really cool. The sidelines react better to plays this years as well, so you won't see your players cheering when the other team scores an 80 yard bomb on you
Otherwise, it's nice to see the cpu running the ball effectively and the new tackling animations are excellent. No complaints from me so far. Just nice to see the coaches back on the sidelines. Still no chain gang but I can live with that.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Impressions (360) PS3 Demo Available Later This Afternoon
Just played on Heisman and Texas is terrible. I was going down field to score the winning TD and I had 3 drops by my WR's and two passes at least 10 yards overthrown. It was a fun game, but I should have easily won it. One of the drops came on an HB screen that was at the 14 and I know for sure would have been the TD I needed as I had 4 blockers out there and only the safety was on that side of the hashes.
Heisman seems to be the way to go this year. I like the game so far now that I played on Heisman, but to be honest, if you didn't come to this site or look at any info about the game, you could easily mistake it for NCAA 11. I am getting this game because zone defense and suction were two of my biggest complaints and those were fixed. Also, the CPU actually runs the ball pretty well on Heisman from the shotgun, so that problem may be fixable as well. I also want to see how well the CC works in year one, my prediction is not that well, but we'll see.
I still think a casual fan who doesn't know much about the game is going to have a hard time seeing any differences from 11 besides 3D grass and the new presentation elements.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I played with auto sprint all last year, I like it. Over all........I can't wait for NCAA 12. I have scrambling QBs, I'm a happy gamer.
Also like the fact I can actual return a punt this year. Now only if they can fix the CPU kick return logic. They return it up the middle of the field too much.
I hope kick return rating actually mean something this year.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Impressions (360) PS3 Demo Available Later This Afternoon
Lots of impressions after 3 games, so I'll get right to it
Negatives:
- One of my biggest annoyances is back. The ball almost never hits the ground without someone touching it first, leading to tons of dropped INT's and perfect throws where perfect throws shouldn't be made. Hopefully a increase in INT and dropped QBA helps out here.
- Commentary is slightly better, but still awful for the most part.
- I hope the crowd is better for the actual game. They were dead in both games I have played.
- Ball physics don't exist. The ball will be thrown at a WR who drops it and the ball goes flying 5 yards in another direction.
- Jump balls still look terrible. Why can't the get an animation for a fade route in the game? Not to mention the CB bat down animation is terrible.
- Runs from the shotgun were stuffed all day. This should be helped by sliders.
- Dreads look even worse than when we saw them in videos. On replays they don't look too bad.
- Same running styles, throwing styles. This needs to be fixed.
Positives:
- The game looks unbelievable in both live action and in replays. Absolutely gorgeous.
- Erin Andrews is the bright spot of terrible commentary, as they seem to have finally given her some decent lines for replay packages.
- The game plays fluid, and this is something I haven't seen since '06.
- Tackling, tackling, tackling. Its way better.
- Defense is much improved. I can't emphasize this enough. Call the right play, and you will be rewarded. Call the wrong play and its likely to screw you over.
- Human vs Human play seems more fluid than before. They really did a good job of cutting out cheese plays.
- The CPU play calling logic definitely seems better. Its hard to tell in a game of 2 minute quarters though.
- Special teams seems to be fixed all around, although I returned a kick against my friend all the way to the house. A nearly blocked a couple kicks, and players don't seem to get blocked automatically.
- Run blocking is improved. A lot of cool new break tackle animations.
- The game is fun, and plays a lot like NCAA 11 except better. Most will look at this as a great thing.
- The stadiums and grass look awesome.
- I don't care what anyone else says, but as a huge college football fan, having those entrances is awesome.
- Lots of gameplay issues will be able to be fixed through sliders. The game played decently for me on AA out of the box, so even those who play HUM v HUM should be okay.
- Gameplay in NCAA 11 was good, NCAA 12 is better. Things obviously need to be added to move it into the Shows or NBA 2K's range though. The major improvements will come outside of gameplay and I'm okay with that. Dynasty as well as RTG were in need of a lot of improvements. Gameplay was already good for me.
Overall:
About what I was expecting. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Lots of things EA can do with this game gameplay wise, but I'm almost glad they took a conservative approach with '12.Writer for Operation Sports

Hey now, I used your sliders for almost all of 11, don't let a bunch of naysayers mess with that. Slow and varsity was the way to go.i agree most people who dis Varsity level are usually people who never even loaded up a game with sliders on varsity level...they just go off of absumption that the game can only be effective on the highest level
