I'm not expecting to be able to run every down with the QB, but occasionally I should be able to get a defender to bite on the HB run and keep it for some yardage.
I am definitely not trying to argue with you, no doubt in my mind you have seen what you have seen and your concerns are legit. I watched my roommate score on a 57 yard read option keeper with Thomas a minute ago on heisman, but, I admit I haven't kept track of how often I ahve seen it handed off or kept so maybe the ratio is a bit whacky.

Hopefully this gets tuned a bit.

That's funny when I played the DE always crashed down on the RB.

Maybe it's not him? Is he #21 in the demo? In the retail version, #21 is a 97 OVR, 97 SPD, 65 STR, 96 AGI, 95 ACC, 85 AWR, 88 BTK.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

This is my impression after playing FSU (me)vs. Bama(cpu). I lost 24-14 on Heisman mainly because i could not stop T. Richardson

I see some people talk about the cpu running logic being flawed and i agree. A couple times in this one game Trent Richardson is running the ball in open field and cuts back towards traffic. In one case he was bout 7 yrs downfield. My safety was the only person left to stop him. T. Richardson had 2 o-lineman in front of him blocking downfield (which i loved to see). My safety, T.Parks, is in front of the o-linemens path. Instead of cutting towards the open field T. Richardson runs into the back of his o-linemen slowing him down the after about 4 yards of riding there backs he cuts to the right and leaves his blockers. T.Parks was able to adjust his angle and run Trent Richardson down. granted he gained about 20 yards but it could have been a td if it was ran right.

I hope there is a way to turn off the auto show play art on the retail version when playing against the cpu. I like to look at my play art a lot but not everyplay and sometimes it clutters the screen.

I love the zoomed in lowerd camera angle on kickoffs. I hope we can make that the default camera angle. It gives me a sense of being on the field. while still being able to see down field.

Nice little play action sequence i seen by Bama. The snapped the ball and faked it to T. Rich. Jacobi Mcdanaiel bust threw the line and was a step away from the sack but as the qb faked it to T. Rich, jacobi bit on the fake and turned and ran towards T. Rich for a couple steps then i guess after realizing it was a fake turn back to the qb and went after him but that extra second gave bama's qb time to get the ball off.

I have not see one diving catch yet, but there was a play when one should have occoured. EJ Manuel threw a bomb to a wide open Wille Haulstead. It was the typical overthrow like in ncaa 11 where the ball lands just a foot in front of the wr but the wr dosent even attempt to even reach out for the ball. Why in the world wasnt a diving catch attempted? I thought thats what that brought those new animations in for.

I see you can still kick 55 yards field goals if you lower the trajectory of the kick. (But then again i was kicking with Dustin Hopkins who had one of the strongest legs in college football 2 yrs ago as a freshman)

If you hold the ball against bama d then you will get hit. You have the get the ball out fast.

Is it me or is T. Richardson a f****** beast and its almost impossible to stop bama out of the pistol??

Love how fsu helmets shine in the shadows.

This problem is still in. The runner goes out of bounds but the game clocks starts back up after you pick a play.

Last which is my biggest gripe fast players just dont seem fast. I know they wanted to tone it down because past games its always been about speed but they have toned the speed threshold down way to much. At first I thought it was just Oregons players like Lamichel James speed was just to low but I know its the game because i see the same problem with FSU. Players like G5, and joyner, and Bert Reid just dont seem to have that extra gear. Im not one of those players that just like to use my speed guys but when players you know that are really fast are not running away from people then you know its a problem

Fat you can turn off autoi play art in the demo in the pause menu screen. You can also change other settings too

Never play any of the previous NCAA titles but after reading some of the impressions in this thread I decided to give it a try.

First, this game has to be the most beautiful football game to date. Players models, field, lighting, etc everything excels here.

After two games I have to give EA props for the new tackling engine, feels very solid and responsive. The animations are crazy fluid, Madden 11 look like a 8 bit game in comparison (ok, maybe not but you get the point).

Run offense seems a bit to powerful right now, maybe because the teams included in this demo have a very good rushing offense. I think slider work would help on this subject.

That was a rule change a few years back I think.

Anyone else having a hard time running the option? Seems like every time I get ready to pitch the ball my QB gets swallowed up. I remember in past games his knee would be about 2 inches from the ground and he'd still flick it out to the RB haha more realistic or was it like this last year? (i took a year off)

I definitely have found TRADITIONAL option, like power, speed, triple, to be kinda awkward.

To be honest, I Dont mind the pitching being toned down, I think late pitches, especially online, are cheesy as heck and just look lame, but the problem isnt the pitch timing its that it seems like I just get swallowed by LBs

They definitely need to improve the cpu ball carrier vision logic. They are drawn to the middle of the field like a moth to a flame. As though they seek to intiiate contact instead of avoiding it.

I lost count how many times they would be on the outside with NOBODY in front of them and they will cut back to the middle of the field where everybody is.

Went from a sure TD to a 6 yard gain. SMH The cpu does this way too much when they are running.

And so far I haven't seen any defender push the pass blockers back into the backfield. they either get pancaked or they get by the pass blocker.

Option plays- no matter read option, traditional options, wr options, etc.- need to work correctly. Not better, just correctly.

What am I supposed to do when I run GT?

On the read options I have noticed that the DE seems to move like a fleet footed CB. Careful not to fix/tune too much though because then you render them ineffective in pass rushing.

Totally with you on this. And some lugnut on here tried to tell me RB AI had been improved. Not from what you and I have seen.

I'm seeing the exact opposite of this. CPU RB AI has been outstanding in every game I've played.
