Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I've played both the 360 and PS3 demos. I'm actually pretty shocked at how poor the PS3 demo looks. I have my console set to 720p and all that, but it isn't the issue. Overall, the game just seems to be way behind the 360 version visually. The textures on the PS3 version just look muddy—it's not an AA issue with jaggies, the textures just look poorly rendered. The colors and lighting also seem a lot "flatter" on the ps3 version. I'm not sure how to describe it exactly, but the helmets in the Bama/FSU matchup don't look quite right in the sun. The colors seem off and the helmets don't look like they have the same glittery sort of finish they do 360 version.
It really is difficult to describe but the colors on the ps3 version look so stark and don't blend with each other. Visually it feels cluttered and looks messy compared to the 360 version.
Hopefully the retail PS3 version is closer to the 360 version in looks, as I'd be pissed off if my only choice looked like the PS3 demo does.Comment

I was playing as Oregon and in the 3rd quarter when I was up 7-0, Texas called all of their timeouts before the 3rd quarter was over. Maybe they knew the final two minutes were coming?--

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Yeah this has been a issue for a couple of years, the CPU not calling appropriate defensive plays based on the game situation. I have seen it happen twice so far where the CPU blitzed on the last play of the half or game when they should have been playing prevent and I completed a long pass for a td both times. This is something that really needs to be addressed. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to program the CPU to call a prevent defense in those situations.CPU defensive A.I. might ned a little work...I just scored a game winning 86 yard hail mary on all american with Oregon...Texas didn't even try to run any type of prevent defense downfield...it was a situation where I had 3 bunched up on one side of the field only to be covered by one or two defensive backsLast edited by mgoblue678; 06-30-2011, 03:05 AM.My Teams

Might be a result of the game time do to shorter qtr's in the demo it probably screws up the AI time managment
They are probably calling timeouts in the demo the way they would under 2:00 minutes in a full game
not making an excuse because the time management has always been bad but i think the DEMO makes it worse at times for the CPUNCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

For sure. The AI looks at how much total time is left when it comes to time outs, not by the quarter, with the exception being before half. It was the same way in last years demo.Might be a result of the game time do to shorter qtr's in the demo it probably screws up the AI time managment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
ok i finally was able to finish the damn PS3 demo download an got a few games in. For one, I'm probably in the minority but i like the dreads. Can't wait to CAP.
Second, on Heisman, Oregon ran all over me. James had an average of 26.7 YPC. bastard. Thomas also scrambled twice in the game. One for a 24 yards and another for 5. Overall they can run the spread, on heisman at least
Also, went the other way and playeed as oregon on AA. The spread is awesome since there's no more suction. Outstanding. Some of those holes on the inside STAY OPEN. Also, didn't see much of the come out in a 4 3/nickel no matter what you come out in on 1st down on this level. I did see it some on Heisman. Got some badass pick 6 on an out route as well in this one, but that might be because i sacked/hit him about 6 times. I didn't see the jailbreak that Skillz and some others saw though when i blitzed though.
Last one was the FSU/Bama game on varsity....I crushed FSU in this one. Ran all over them. Nothing else of note.
On all three levels the return game is better than it ever has been especially on punts, and MAN the tackling is outstanding, and makes sense. Excellent job there.
Also, i read this whole thread and not one person noted that they FINALLY ADDED THE SQUIB KICK. GLORY TO THE GODS.HELLO BROOKYLN.

At one point I said I might cancel my pre-order but the more I play it the more it grows on mw so I will probably end up getting it. I just hope you can slow down the game speed in the retail version as it is a little too fast IMO.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Thought I'd try my method again of punting on 1st down and just calling the defensive plays, controlling no player.
This time instead of calling 2 man under I went for cover 3 no matter what formation i was in or Oregon.
First game was 11-0 to me Texas, 2 safety's because Oregon's QB thought he had all day to throw while standing in the endzone.
Second game was 16-10 to Texas(me).
Even just calling cover 3 all game I blew up their option runs. Seemed to think he had all day to pass and got sacked a lot.
QB only scrambled once in each 4 games apart from the last when he did it 4 times which shocked and impressed me.
So in both these games I outscored Oregon 26-10 by just calling defensive plays. In all 5 games played I've outscored Oregon 43-20 in 40 minutes of action.
How can this be ?
I would really like someone else to try this as it means being a defensive coordinator will be easy picking one play all game.Last edited by Lavar; 06-30-2011, 07:53 AM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Some more thoughts........
Fast defense owns all. All the blitzes work really well this year, even the looping and crossing blitzes. Wreaked havoc Alabama QB last night with 6 sacks.
And is it just me or is it the more you sack or knock down the QB, the quicker he starts to scramble ?
It sure seemed that way with Alabama QB after the 3rd sack. He started to roll out a hell of a lot more in full sprints some times forcing the ball.
Had some really good looking sacks on looping blitzes. Funny thing about it is this year, you don't have to control the guy at all, the cpu does a very good job on their own sacking the QB on blitzes.
So I don't know why peope said Alabama was a beast on heisman level. I always manage to shut their offense completely down by blitzing. Same thing with Oregon offense.
Playing as a defensive coordinator going to be a blast to play. I'm going to lead the nation in defense and sacks.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I think it makes it good, if it worked like i think it worked...Oregon or Bama, cant remember who called a time out after they stopped me on 3rd down with just a few seconds to go in the third quarter which meant there was only 2 minutes and a few seconds left in the game...the way I read it was that the computer called a time out because there was just over 2 minutes left in the game despite only being in the 3rd quarterMight be a result of the game time do to shorter qtr's in the demo it probably screws up the AI time managment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
After one game I'm satisfied with some of the improvements from last year. Game looks and plays better than ever. My only annoyance was the scroll on the play call screen that screwed me up numerous times.
For those that complain and bash the game, there's always room for improvement but the game will never be 100% realistic cuz it's a VIDEO game. IMO they are getting about as close as you can get to realistic football with a video game. There will always be some imperfections and features that get left out of the game, but I'm psyched for the full version.OH-IOComment

You should be able to do that. I agree that the speed of the Demo is a little fast for my taste.Currently Playing:
