I fought my first fight tonight against a dude who tried to smother me. It was frustrating at the beginning because I didn't feel like I could move. But I adjusted. He would have his ear muffs on and then try to fire off combos. I would stick him and move, jab and straight then to the body. As the fight wore on I would tatoo him and then tie him up. Going into the 10th I had 78 percent stamina. I finished him off with a lethal right cross. He threw over 900 punches and I threw 632 total. Good win for Tarheelphenom35 aka Rashan Jones.

You just showed me 2 fights I watched live, both of those clips are early rounds before they got tired, and both of those fights they were so gassed they could barely lift their arms by the end of it, as with any high action fight. If you want 80%+ stamina in round 12 then fight like PBF. It is a fact that stick n move, outside boxing, takes much more energy than pretty much any other style, and even with the stamina changes, I stick n move and have 20%+ more stamina than my oponent in the late rounds. Maybe it's skill? Taking breaks were you should? Not throwing 120 punches per round? I'm also recovering more stamina than my opponents in between rounds, while winning rounds. IRL Both fighters in a good fight will have their hands lower and lower late in the fight and barely be able to walk afterwards. those 2 fights you showed are proof of it, if you watch the whole fight.Sorry, that's not accurate.
Look at that and tell me when Ortiz is ever stationary. He's constantly moving and always on his feet. You look back at Mosley in his prime and you'll see even more movement, even more footwork, and constant in and out.
That's boxing. You have to be on your toes to box, and you have to move, almost constantly, to defend. This staying in the pocket and trading stuff is brawling.
I'm not knocking anyone, but I think there's some guys here that just want 'highlight-reel' boxing. A game that creates some good action and highlight material. Hence the clamor for one punch KO's, despite them being an extreme rarity at the upper level of boxing.

Leaning on each other, tying up alot, flailing elbow punches, and they weren't throwing 100+ punches per round like most people are doing in FNC.Last edited by Cynick; 07-01-2011, 04:55 AM.NCAA: Oklahoma Sooners

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3
I faced some guy (King Sammy) that sticked and moved me all fight long. He was Lucian Palmer , I was Pavlik. He moved in and out with almost perfect judiciousness, fighting at the right time, not fighting at the right time. He hugged the ropes a good deal, but not in a cheesy way. I tried to attack, I tried to push, but only had the briefest of successes.
He destroyed me by sticking and moving. After suffering my 3rd knockdown I was KOed in the 8th. I asked him what his stamina was at the end-he said he thought it was 45, so take that with a grain of salt. Mine was 38.Comment

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3
Actually I was. It was a close fight going into the 9th...probably tied and I dropped him. So, I had a slight lead going into the 10th where I finished him off. Even with his smothering style he managed to throw 900+ punches. What I ended up doing was sticking and moving as best I could without overdoing it. When he would fire off shots I would fire off as well. But, I also began to push him off me as well as tie him up after I would fire at him.
Also, my best friend and I played offline head to head last night too. He hasn't found a way to adjust to the new stamina yet. So, going into our fight ANdre Dirrell(me) vs. Nathan Cleverly(him), he decides that he is gonna put his ear muffs on. His strategy was to move as minimal as possible, keep the ear muffs on....lean forward and back and fire out of that position. For the first 4 rounds he was frustrating me to no end because offensively I couldn't get through like I wanted to. He was winning rounds because I wasn't connecting at a high rate on my shots and he was pot shotting me. So, in the 5th round I decided to get physically aggressive with him. I went BHop on him. I started pushing him and when his guard opened up I would tag him quickly and move. I also started tying him up and I saw that once we broke he would try to fire quickly and when he did I would dodge and tag him. All that leaning and having the ear muffs on was still affecting his stamina as well as missed punches. I ended up taking the next 7 out of 8 rounds(we play 12rds) and won a unanimous decision. Going into the 12th I had 69% stamina and for the fight I only threw like 600 punches.
My boy was very upset lol!! He said that the game won't allow him to be him. I said all you did was keep the ear muffs on and pot shot. You weren't boxing...you wouldn't engage me hardly at all!"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

Just fought a dude online where he came out throwing wildly...high volume amount of punches. By the 3 round he was tired and I 1 punck KOed him with a plain straight right. I know these one punch knockouts don't happen alot but I gotta tell you...It's Highly Rewarding when you do it LOL!!!"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

I'm not talking about punch output, I'm specifically talking about movement. I've seen the whole fight and they both took some punishment, which is why they were out of it.You just showed me 2 fights I watched live, both of those clips are early rounds before they got tired, and both of those fights they were so gassed they could barely lift their arms by the end of it, as with any high action fight. Look at Mosley in the late rounds here:
Still on his feet, still moving. Of course there's a reduction in speed, but the point is the constant movement doesn't effect them as much as it does in FNC.Comment

I'm learning to make that happen and finally getting better defensive results.

Re: Patch Available on XBOX 360
I totally agree with you ...Glad you guys like it. I'm done. There is no way to fight as an outside fighter effectively. I just fought as Wlad vs Marciano. He threw nothing but body punches for 5 rounds and there was nothing I could do to stop him. I couldn't jab him and move, he'd just block and walk through it, and once he was inside, there's nothing I could do to get back out of range. As a real-life boxer, this is a slap in the face.Finn Z.Born To Percieve psn DKGuitarStar www.youtube.com/dksimbreakdowns

I kinda let the game sit, until I saw this thread yesterday. Set up some CPU vs CPU matches to see how those looked. Then took Lewis against Tyson. I kept my distance and made sure not to take any big hits from him, KO'd him. I'm starting to like this as much as I did FN3, which was my favorite.
Off Topic: anyone else cringe when they see Tyson coming w/ that crazy overhand(?).Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya
