Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3

In some matchups, such as when I was Wlad and fought Lewis, stamina was not a problem, as the CPU only threw about 20-30 punches a round.

But for the most part, it did become an issue. For example, I did a lot of fights as Lewis against Tyson. I knew that as as soon as the fight got into the second half, he would get exhausted and I could win by KO, giving a hollow victory.

Furthermore, when I was Foreman against Tyson, as I stood my ground and pushed him off, they CPU output rose even higher (70 in first few rounds), so Tyson was completely gone by the 4th, allowing me to win.

So I will try the 1 minute rounds with the stamina slider all the way down, so hopefully there will be some drain. Either way, it should be a lot better knowing that you won't simply win because the CPU has punched itself out.

It's so easy to beat these body shot bums. I just beat a guy who was 28-1, the other night I beat a guy who was 38-2. This is on heavyweight OWC, btw.

I just let them wear themselves out throwing body punches, meanwhile I land one-two's and throw in an occasional uppercut while I stand there blocking their body shots. I win nearly every round on these idiots.

        Rashan Jones Announces Retirement!

At approximately 12:01am tonight I will retire from Fight Night Boxing. My career has been one roller coaster of a ride with all of the rule changes and different styles. My career started off smooth and then in the middle I struggled...but I am ending strong. I know my career record in the Lightweight Division of 65-58 42ko's may seem modest to some. I take pride in the fact that through it all I maintained my integrity and refused to succumb to the temptation of adapting to a style that I don't consider boxing. I feel now is the time to bow out gracefully and seek other avenues. I have been contacted by college and pro football organizations for coaching vacancies. I will accept those jobs...college being the first effective at 12:02am eastern time at the University of North Carolina. Thank You and God bless!

I will live with that though, because I like the matches I get now with decisions, 1 pko's, and Tko's. Also, not as important, but you can definitely get more matches in during the day as well.

You are right about the long term stamina, and I will try a few matches with it set at a lower stamina setting
I was just wondering, what do you have the CPU Punch Output slider set to with these 1 minute rounds?

Finally got to spend some time with the new patch. Some thoughts:

The offline portion of the game is messed up bad since the patch. AI doesn't know stamina drops more and there gassed by the 6th or 7th making for an easy KO. Need to tweak the settings manually to see if it helps.

The online portion of the game is great imo. Its now really hard to be a cheeser...at least on the 7 or so games i've played since the patch. Hopefully they keep it like this or dont change much because I think its great.

The scoring online is stupid. Before the patch I never had an online match go all the way so I cant say if the scoring was off then. I just had a match where I was Lennox Lewis and he was Evander Holyfield. We both played pretty realistic which was awesome because just about everyone I play spams everything. Anyway, while I was competitive, he was simply better then me. He would get in get his punches off and back out. We threw pretty much the same number of punches but he outlanded me by over 100 punches. I managed to stun him in the final seconds of the last round but there wasen't much time left and my stamina was shot so I couldn't take advantage.I thought I had won about three rounds but to me it was pretty clear he should've won. The scores read:

              Judge 1: 96-94
              Judge 2: 95-95
              Judge 3: 98-92

Judges 1 and 3 scored for me so I won even though I shouldn't have(just like real life boxing!) I sent him a message telling him gg and that I probably shouldnt have won.

I picked this up again after hearing the next update dropped.

I tend to play as an outside fighter and noticed no significant stamina drop from the stick and move. Of course, I did notice it if continuously moving back or simply flailing away, but not on the stick and move.

Online, you have to fight realistically. Continual spamming will pretty much guarantee a loss because it just saps stamina. I'm sure the cheesers hate it.

Last night, I played two matches where I could tell both fighters were playing they way they used to pre-patch. I won both.

Think I've finally found the right settings for this game.

I recently decided to play 1 minute rounds, with the following slider changes:

                      GOAT
                      Sim Presentation
                      12 Rounds
                      Ref Sliders-10
                      Stamina-0
                      Punch Output-0
                      Accuracy-0
                      Damage-10

I've also lowered each the swelling and blood stats for each boxer by 50.

1st Match- Lewis vs AI Tyson
Here, I won a pretty easy unanimous descision, boxing on the outside, using the jab, and pushing and clinching on the inside. Tyson had me rocked once, but there were no knockdowns. Plus, he only won two rounds. Stamina was at about 90% at the end of the fight, with Tyson having thrown just under 30 punches a round.

2nd Match- Old Foreman vs AI Tyson

This bout ended with a stoppage vicory for Tyson after a complete brawl. I stood my ground and threw power shots, pushing Tyson when he came inside and backing him up. It was pretty even, with me getting two knockdowns, and Tyson getting one. Furthermore, both our faces were badly cut and swollen, as a result of taking each others' bombs. Then, right at the end of the 6th round, the referee stopped that fight after a Tyson hook, having decided that Foreman had taken too much damage, with his eye swollen shut. Finally, Tyson had thrown just below 40 punches a round.

Same here. I pretty much play with the exact same style as I did before the latest patch. I was never much of an overall mover. I was an in-and-out fighter that kept enough distance that I could cause them to miss and jump in to take advantage of openings. Last my I was still around 60% stamina by the 10th round. It was only that low due to me going full pressure mode around the 8th after I had wore down the other fighter.

Really enjoying the game...cheesing is to be expected, having fun playing and using lesser fighters to destroy my opponents. Seems by round 6-7 my opponents are tired and i can rush them and win the fight.

It's hilarious, as it was last yr how they can only fight while standing still....i force them to move forward and pop them as they move in. A changing attack keeps them off balance each round to an easy win for me.

There are times where i get careless and get flash KD'd, but after that they sit and wait on another big punch and get destroyed while doing so. I enjoy the game. I understand it is a game. I won't allow it to frustrate me.

I don't know if this is possible to implement, but I believe offline play can be sorted out by adding a setting for 1 and a half minute rounds.

Stamina drain is the main problem offline; 2 minute rounds have too much of a stamina drain for the CPU from throwing too much, making them go into zombie mode as early as the 4th round. In contrast, the 1 minute rounds, whilst an improvement, have too little stamina drain. T

Therefore, I believe a 90 second round will have the perfect balance. The CPU would most likely throw a similar number of punches as the user controllled boxer, so it wouldn't burn itself out, as it would be throwing a realistic number of punhces a round (approximately 50).

Money99 here are the outcomes of my last 7 matches:

*Tyson vs Haye – 6th round KO
*Arreola vs Holyfield – 12th round KO loss (one of the best fights I have ever had)

*Calzaghe vs Jones Jr – KO 3rd round (this was a war until the last punch ended it)
*Hopkins vs Dawson – Decision loss (great battle, he dropped me in the 12th to win 113-112 on the cards)

*Hagler vs Vargas – 5th round KO (El Feroz took a beating, I felt bad for him)
*Lara vs Mundine – 1 punch KO 9th round (it was a beautiful straight)

*Ortiz vs Leonard – Decision 113-111 (it would have been a draw, with 8 seconds remaining in the 12th I dropped Leonard which put me ahead on the cards)

Each match up was picked at random and below are the sliders I used:
Champion or GOAT (I like the feel of both levels, but leaning towards Champion)
                                12 rounds or 15 rounds
Round length set at 1 minute
Saved by the bell: Last round only
                                Three Knockdown rule: Yes
                                Referee Foul Awareness: 10
                                Referee Damage Awareness: 10
Boxer Power: 7 or 8 (I like 7 at the moment)
                                Boxer Speed: 5
Boxer Physical damage: 10 (still not seeing enough for my liking)
                                Boxer Toughness: 5
                                Boxer Accuracy: 9
                                Boxer Stamina: 5
                                Counter Punch Window: 7
                                CPU Offensive Awareness: 5
CPU Defensive Awareness: 5 (may adjust in the future, I like it at 10 as well)
                                CPU Punch Output: 0

My style of boxing is to stick with my boxers strengths, but I do take a lot of risks which gets me KO'ed at times, lol. Each one of my matches were enjoyable and I can't wait to play more later.

The CPU punch numbers are perfect in my opinion. Let me know how you enjoy my settings or what adjustments you made. Post your next 5 fight results. Take care.
