Recruiting in Dynasty CC
Quick question. I am the offensive coordinator in a Coaching Carousel Dynasty and just noticed that I am suppose to recruit for both sides. My question is what are you guys going to do? Are you going to recruit defensive players as well or just spend all your time on offense (assuming your an OC)? Please share some ideas on how to handle this."When life gives you lemons find some tequila and do some shots"Tags: None -
Re: Recruiting in Dynasty CC
I think most people's solutions was to fill up the recruiting board like normal, but to spend half the time on players on their side of the ball, and then leave the rest of the CPU to use. (Also they would turn CPU adding players to the board off)Football Pre-game Prayer

What I was going to do, if I am either OC or DC, is to split up the 25 scholarships in two. Then only use about 5-6 hours of the 10 hours allowed. The only problem is that the CPU won't just focus on defense if you are an OC, they will also try and get offensive players.Comment

Re: Recruiting in Dynasty CC
You're the Offensive/Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. It's your responsibility to recruit all the players. Assuming your a pretty good player, you're best off recruiting the other side of the ball a little bit better than the one you're controlling.Comment

Re: Recruiting in Dynasty CC
Just assume on top of being the oc/dc you are the recruiting coordinator. Not that far fetchedComment

Re: Recruiting in Dynasty CC
No great way to deal with this. Maybe if you recruit your side of the ball with roughly half the hours. Then turn off add prospects and only have players from the other side of the ball as prospects when you sim. This way the CPU should only go after the other side of the ball for you. The most realistic way in my eyes would be to completely sim or just add a few guys to simulate suggestions to the HC made by you.
And to the previous poster who said that's not how it works. I'm not sure exactly what you are referencing but I doubt there are any teams with a coordinator who completely control recruiting. Most teams have the HC as atleast the face of recruiting if not the brains. Maybe you know something about the game that I don't.Comment

Re: Recruiting in Dynasty CC
during the launch party ea devs said that it might sounds cheap but to help yourself as oc/dc the most to reaching your goals they would just recruit one side of the ballComment

Re: Recruiting in Dynasty CC
Which is dumb because if for some reason you do wind up as head coach of your team, it's going to be a wreck. Like someone said, it is not farfetched to be the recruiting coordinator as well. Sure, put a little more into your side of the ball, but if you leave the rest up to the computer, you'll wind up with little of us. Not to mention, wins are a part of your goals. If your defense gets bad enough, win goals might not come as easily if you are giving up 7 every drive.Comment

Well what I meant was offensive coaches just don't recruit offensive players, they recruits both sides of the ball.

Re: Recruiting in Dynasty CC
yeah that's what i don't understand too.
if you want a true sim, that's how it happens in real life. recruit both sides of the ball. if you're a DC and you recruit a good pounding RB, your team will control the ball, which means less reps against your D which usually means less yds, pts, etc.LSU Tigers

Re: Recruiting in Dynasty CC
I wanted to make it somewhat realistic, so I am picking out a handful of players(4 or 5) to recruit each week, while letting the CPU do the rest of the recruits.Comment
