I don't think that's cheating, cuz other teams will try to recruit him as well. If you got him on your team then job well done.

I did that with NCAA 11 and created the #1 MLB in the class and freaking lost him to OU! Especially in my own backyard in Texas

How about making him not tailored to your team?

If you're playing offline, then go for it! it will make the game funner if you're able to recruit a talent perfect for your school. More power to ya!

As long as you're not making him from your team's state or maybe even a pipeline state it's not cheating.

When I was younger and didn't care about trying to play sim, I would start as a 1* school, then create a beast player at QB or RB, but put him as a 1 star kicker or punter. Then I would recruit him like crazy and had a great player.

            THAT was cheating.

It's not cheating, no guarantee you'll get him. I create at least one every season, depending on the posistion I need. I do this every year, I never make it from my home state. I've gotten only one I've made maybe out of 30

I don't think it's cheating as long as you don't give him ridiculous ratings. Just keep his ratings within bounds of what a normal recruit would be and you're all good.

I tried that once back in like NCAA 2006, I remember I lost him to freaking New Mexico.

I CAP for what I need and want, say a fast linebacker that has tackling issues so he's about a 2-3* instead of a 4, but put him in a state far away. Pipelines far away are okay to me. And in 2012 the only "cheating" will be editing really crappy players into all stars.
